To all bandwagon fans, I too wish Bonner was back. You ask a good question. I believe that a team can request a injury excemption to the league to sign a player using said excemption.
To all including the PollyAnna Poppers,
I wish Bonner was back in for this rodeo road trip.
NBA injury question: When a player goes out midseason, say Bonbon is unable to return period. What options does a team have for that roster spot or is it just tough ty, they have to lose a spot for the entire rest of the season and playoffs?

Short answer is that the Spurs aren't eligible for any relief in the event that Bonner is done for the season. They are only using 13 of 15 roster spots right now. They can simply sign a replacement and use one of the available roster spots.
As to the Disabled Player Exception, that would only apply if the player was injured on or before November 30th. Houston got one for Yao and Portland got one for Oden. Dallas did not get one for Butler and the Spurs would not get one for Bonner.
Thanks for that information. It would be bizarre if Bonner doesn't come back.

How many Bonner threads are you going to start?
And lol lose a roster spot. If the spurs had a full roster to begin with, that might matter.
Man a year ago we would have been praying that he never came back.
