"Obama intentionally did not mention gun control in his State of the Union, but aides say that in the next two weeks the administration will unveil a campaign to get Congress to toughen existing laws."

Just on the heel's of all the excess reportings of shootings(of officers to have more shock impact) to help pass gun control legislation.

    All aboard the FailBoat!

Stupid politicians. Obama's only chance of "strengthening" current gun laws was when he had a Dem Congress. Lets see, get your ass kicked in the midterms by the pro-gun party and now you want to try and pass some gun agenda?

    Yeah, fail.

Depends on what he wants to do. Even Faceventilator Cheney conceded something like magazine capacity limits might be appropriate -- and it would be unwise to underestimate the political power of Gifford's bloody shirt.

TBH, I think this is a set-up. Axelrod just dropped the snowball at the top of the mountain, and in two weeks, by the time the whole NRA/GOP/Sons of liberty are an avalanche of absurdity, he's going to come out in favor of gun rights, personal responsibility, and cocacola+smile=Amuhrcah. Not unlike when he made the assembly gasp with mention of a Federal spending freeze.
