    Wow

    8/11, 22 pts. Extremely efficient!!!

I expect him to finish with at least 44 points shooting above 50% (16/24)

Give it up for another inspiring game from Kobe

One thing is for sure, his knees are going to stay really healthy. He can pretty much do anything he wants without fear of injury because of his elite durability.

Its always a pleasure to be an eye witness to greatness when it unfolds. This could be a legendary Kobe game in the making one that could rival Jordan's 55 point game against the Knicks back in '95.

His amazing game means if the lakers lose. Should have found a way to get his teammates involved more(0 assists), then again with boston shooting over combined 55%, that probably wasn't the problem.

    Pau Gasol 5-13
    Ron Artest 1-10
    Derek Fisher 1-6

Sometimes there's more than meets the eye.

Well maybe Kobe should take responsibility defensively instead of hiding out on Rondo while PP goes off.

"Ballhogging" doesn't really tell the story with Kobe. He obviously should have the ball in his hands in 4th quarters.

The problem is sometimes it almost looks as though he wants to force himself into a situation where he has to take an insanely tough, highly guarded shot.

Kobe played a fantastic offensive game, he doesn't deserve any blame at all..he would have obviously had more assists, had it not been for scrubs like Artest, Fisher and Brown..it also doesn't help when Gasol and Bynum are playing like pussies..

When no one else is stepping up and Kobe goes into chuck mode, forget about it. If Kobe thinks you're not bringing enough on the court, he'll just ignore you. I don't completely blame him because his teammates didn't come ready to play today. But it's still dumb for him to go to chuck mode when there was still a chance to win the game. It's a double-edged sword though. Kobe was the only one really determined to win, but he went to a couple too many isolation forced shots. He actually didn't force too much in most of the third quarter and early on in the fourth. He probably should have tried to look more for his shot before he went into chuck mode in the middle of the fourth quarter.

I think Kobe might have convinced Phil to allow him to guard Pierce if he hadn't gotten those two early fouls. I really do think something is wrong with Artest. He looked horrible defensively. The Lakers as a whole looked horrible defensively overall.

And yes, Pau did play soft. If a defender doesn't let Pau back him down, he doesn't have the assertiveness or confidence to force himself closer to the rim, then he just settles for that short fade-away. The guy is way too good. I think KG and Perkins do get in his head.

Kobe played great in the second quarter.

I agree. I have to at least question his shot selection starting from about 7 minutes into the 4th when the game was within 4 points.

It's not even the fact that he went essentially 1-6 during that critical stretch. Of course, if he makes those shots, he becomes a hero.

But, if he's taking good, reasonably open shots and still goes 1-6, Lakers fans shouldn't have a problem with it. I don't think a couple of those were good shots, though.
