    Please bigmen don't make Kobe great its Kobe that makes the big guys great like Shaq,Gasol. Those 2 guys had to ride Kobe's coattails to win les which is the truth.

    Only Jordan, won les without a dominant big man, otherwise every team that won a le had a quality big, its just fact. Lakerfan has it backwards, nothing new here.

    Honestly Shaq did coattail ride Kobe to win rings. You spurfans should remember it was Kobe that lit you guys up both in '01 and '02. I remember Kobe dropping 40 points on the spurs back in '01 while Shaq didn't even show up in the first 2 games of that series. If Kobe doesn't step up then the Lakers lose the series. In '02 Kobe was also huge when Shaq had bad games against the spurs in the playoffs. In '03 unfortunately Kobe couldn't bail out Shaq this time and thus the spurs won the series. Shaq is nothing but Kobe's glorified sidekick.

    Shaq was beasting back then. Go take a look at those Finals numbers and tell me why Shaq was undeniably the Finals MVP every single season...

    And as we've seen today, it doesn't matter how well or not Kobe plays, Lakeshow goes as far as the big man will take them.

    Kobe did the Tim Duncan like route by allowing Shaq to win those MVP's in the finals. It was because of Kobe's greatness that Shaq was free to get all those easy buckets which is similar to what Duncan did for Parker in the '07 finals. The defense was focused on stopping Kobe in the finals that it opened up the game for Shaq and thus Shaq dominated and got those mvp's.

    In Miami it was the same story for Shaq which is he needs a dominate SG to win except this time he couldn't get Finals MVP because Wade bailed him out.     What sounds familiar is Kobe missing the playoffs, then having a quick exit in the first round (with Phil, Bynum and Odom) until Gasol came around and he was back to coattailing.
