Look at Duncan in 09 he couldn't get out of the first round with just Parker plus your scrubs such as Bonner,Bowen,Finley, etc. Without Ginobilli the spurs are a first round team. Now nobody would ever say Ginobilli is better then Duncan but it is agreed he is a vital cog. This is pretty much the same way it is setup with the Lakers for Kobe that without Gasol they are a first round team but without Kobe they aren't a championship team and maybe not even a playoff team.
You'll have to start out as altar boy and work your way up until we deem you worthy of a higher position. Nothing personal, but remember, the Devil has many guises and for all I know, you might be a Spurs or Celtics fan masquerading as a Kobe fan.

Duncan won 'ships with different casts. He was on the decline already in '09, and still is. I'll be the first to tell you that. Then again, no Spur fan is talking about Duncan being the GOAT or some such as the Kobe slobbers.
The reality stands though: What you call the 'dynamic' is the fact that Kobe needs a big man to win games simply because he's good, but not good enough to win without coattailing a big man.
