Put Kobe on this year's Cav team and the Lakers would blow.

Kobe would need Varejao and Big Z healthy too, I think they could pull 50+ wins. Kobe's just knows how to work with big men, take that as you will.
Gasol and Bynum disagree with you.

Put Kobe on this year's Spurs instead of Manu and what happens?

would the record be better, worse or just the same?
Pop would get tired of Kobe's 1 on 5 offensive philosphy and trade Kobe for a future 2nd round pick.

Geez, what a mighty downfall for the cavaliers. Lebron leaves and the team snowballs from thereon into near NBA futility. Who would have thought?

With that said, say Kobe was put on this years cavs team, injuries notwithstanding. What happens?

Does Kobe duplicate the same success? Or does the display look like another pregasol Laker team (average team with Kobe chucking along)?

Does he get Shaq, Big Z, Varajeo and Delonte back too?

Better. Manu could play with anyone given his style of play. He's a much better playmaker than Kobe. Kobe is a better all around player then Manu, but Manu kicks his ass in playmaking ability. Imagine Manu running the show in LA with two great (sometimes, decent) bigs, Artest, L.O., and other decent players?

Crazy thing to think is the talent L.A. has hasn't helped them beat mediocre and upper echelon teams on any given night.

This "coasting" thing is bull . A team with that much talent wouldn't lose to the damn Kings..............at HOME.
Manu is awesome, still one of my favorite player in the league. I wouldn't say Manu "kicks his ass" in playmaking. But the difference is that Manu is a much more willing playmaker. If Kobe were ever to play completely unselfishly, he has the talent and skill and vision to be one of the better (particularly non point guard) playmakers in the league. But that's one of the flaws in his game. He just doesn't think that way most of the time.

Playing with Duncan and for Pop might change the way Kobe played, at least a little bit. I think Kobe would utilize Duncan a lot more than people think he would. Kobe respects Duncan. And Duncan doesn't complain and is utterly selfless, so even when Kobe ballhogs, it wouldn't be a problem for Duncan. I think that would endear Duncan to Kobe even more so. Kobe on the Spurs now where Duncan isn't even the focal point of the offense anymore, I think Kobe fits right in and they're right about where they're at now. That's not only a testament to the Spurs but to how well Manu has played for much of the season.
