No lie im kinda surprised this thread has gotten this far.
Your a youngin, lol. I grew up in the 70's with Wahoo McDaniel, Ivan Pusky,(when he was a fat slob), Johnny Valentine, and Red Sabastian, to name a few.
No lie im kinda surprised this thread has gotten this far.
Son January-April is usually wrestling season because you've got the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber and Wrestlemania in succession. Then it takes a royal dip as the next good event is the Summer Slam.
Ah, my all time favorite.
Anyone ever read any of Foley's books? Have a Nice Day is a pretty good read whether you're a wrestling fan or not.
u forgot guys like ultimate warrior, scott hall, lex luger, king kong bundy, andre, big boss man
but back in those days the moves they did were jack ...cmon now, a fkn leg drop from hulkster is a finishin move? lol
Yep, Hulk's leg drop was garbage. I didn't like his whole act.
Okerland would do interviews with the Ultimate Warrior and just call him "Ult."![]()
I knocked "Attend a Wrestlemania" off my bucket list a couple years ago in Houston. Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels...you would have thought it was game 7 of the NBA Finals the way the crowd was going.
Seeing Stone Cold's HOF induction live was also badass...esp. when you're the one who starts the "One More Match" chant
Around the 5:45 mark...call BS if you want, but that was VBM
I remember a Monday Night Raw where the entire McMahon Family were involved at one point in a pissing match with Austin and Austin went around giving each the Stone Cold Stunner. When he got to the old lady (Linda) she was scared to death and wouldn't let him touch her, but, he portended to do it to her anyway, but, he never got within a foot of her. She bounced nonetheless.
Great lodgement on the retirement video, V. I'd never seen before.
I attended the WM XX at MSG. God ing damn it what an epic three-way match. Too bad Benoit died because of drug overdose.
That's whats up. That's my gen as well![]()
Britsh Bulldog,Ultimate Warrior & Andre the Giant were my faves until the UnderTaker tok the WWF by storm. That was such a wickedly bad ass era.
Can you name these? Try not to google though
And those WWF Ice Cream Bars were to die for![]()
all of those are easy..
Bam Bam was one of my favorites, and I liked him even more after reading about how he saved kids that were in a house fire, quality stuff..
Typhoon & Earthquake.
And when The Big Show would come out to start his match he'd be all stout, blown up, everything above his waist in a glorious V. Within' 30 seconds he'd blow the whole thing out and he'd be a blubber ass.![]()
You got The Beast from the East Scott "Bam Bam" Bigelow, The Bushwhackers Luke and Butch, The Rockers (Marty Jeanetty and a very young Shawn Michaels), Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig, The Natural Disasters Earthquake John Tenta and Typhoon (nee Tugboat), and last but not least you've got Scott Hall back in his Razor Ramon days. Good times. I always liked Razor's little routine with the chains. Always the same speech to whatever guy he handed them off to at ringside, "Somting 'appen to deez, somting going to 'appen to you."
Were you more of a WCW of WWF fan? I assume you loved the NWO?
It was sad when they turned out the Bushwhackers toward the end of their run. They did the same thing to the Legion of Doom, those guys with the rubber es on their shoulder pads.
Reading this thread mellows ya out that's for sure. 30 years went by in a blink.
I loved it when the Rock and Y2J would tag team with insults to Stephanie McMahon.
I also loved it when Kurt Angle made Austin cry.![]()
Yeah, I went for the more mainstream guys haha.
and that was really an epic heroic from Bam.
OMG Culb, you really know your WWFNot a lot of people knows those bas s even when they were still wrestling because they were fat as . What was their move? IIRC they sit on their opponents face?

I never forgave Earthquake after he squashed Damian...Jake "The Snake's" first python
Yep, they were just a waste of space. Just filler. They musta known somebody.
The Brett Hart and Shawn Michaels iron man match at WM 12 was awesome. I wanted to see HBK and The Rock fued so badly. A match between those 2 would have been an all time great. Both have great mic skills and can take matches to another level.
I was definitely more of a WWF fan, but I became a huge WCW fan during the NWO days..it became watered down pretty quickly though..
Kurt Angle was great..he could have been a huge superstar..he was one of the best wrestlers, and he was still able to pull off solid promos and had a good amount of charisma..shame..
