I used to have an MP3 set of a live acoustic thing they did. It was awesome.
Just found an old cd case from high school.
My Stabbing Westward CD's made me the happiest.
Pretty much forgot about them, very underrated band IMO. That is all.

I like the song "Shame" by them, but never anything else. I think their problem was that too much of their sounded kinda the same.
i remember my brother liking this as well as a bunch of other too.
Apart from their last album, where they tried to go 'mainstream', they were always freaking awesome. Not NIN level, but still pretty good for the genre.
Ungod was an awesome song from their first album, and Darkest Days is probably in my Top 10-15 favourite albums.
I agree with you totally gospursgojas
I saw them in 1999 at the white rabbit. They were great. That was the last i heard of them.
I remember seeing SW on MTV once talking about Dark Days and how they reviewed the tracklisting a lot to make sure everything flowed perfectly. I haven't listened to it the whole way through, but I remember thinking that was pretty cool to hear since most records sound like a bunch of random songs built around radio hits.
I saw them in Houston in 95? They opened up for Depeche Mode.
I was at that same show.
Great song. While I always thought they had a distinct sound, I never thought their songs sounded the same. There was a consistency in idea and execution, but the progressions, etc. all had their own feel. At least for me.
They were called NIN Lite by alot of my friends but I think they were a little more of thier own sound. They tried not so hard to be edgy like NIN.
I was at that show, too! Standing along the rail with my friend (we were still in HS) and some guy gave us a beer... thought it was an awesome time.
I still love listening to Darkest Days but their last cd was disappointing. They played a NYE show at Sunset Station in support of that record and were completely different... I thought I was watching a bon jovi tribute band or something. That was the end for them even though the last cd has grown on me since I've matured lol.
The singer has a new band called The Dreaming that is decent, but nowhere near as good as SW was...
gotta side with koriwhat on this one, stabbing westward was gay as .
I can't even saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaave myyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelf
That song was the soundtrack for every ty late 90's teen horror movie trailer.
I would always bust into Suzanne Vega's Tom's Diner whenever that crappy song came on.
Do do do dat
doot da do da
Doot da dooda doot da doodah.....![]()
arrgh. that evil riff is one of the easiest things to get stuck in your head.
May I suggest instead:
ma nam ma na... doot doo dee doo... ma nam ma na... doot doo dee doo
i guess my brother is more suited for ST considering he has more in common with yall than i do... except the fact that he's not a big spurs fan but crappy movies, crappy music, crappy other things... he has me beat and yall would probably get along with him more so than me.
But thank the God of we can't capitalize more the 2 letters per word. Ohhhhhhhhhh the madness that would create.
