I heard they also want Marc Gasol, so they have a nice back up, and to hedge against Bynum or Pau injury. That'd be cool if they traded Pau for Marc imo. They aren't winning it this year, which means they aren't next year, which means rebuild besides Kobe.

If there's anything the Lakers "need," it's a competent point guard. Blake is objectively one of the worst players in the NBA. Fisher isn't all that much better. He has one of the top 10 worst PERs of all point guards in the league. Steve Blake has one of the top 5 worst PERs.
I heard the Lakers will trade Walton, Ratliff, Artest, Blake, Barnes, Ebanks and Fisher for Gay, Mayo, Gasol, Conley and Young.
After that they'll trade Jow Smith for Vasquez.
Bynum/M.Gasol
Gasol/Odom/Caracter
Gay/Young
Kobe/Mayo/Vasquez
Conley/Brown

s young & talented he would be wanted by all teamz if he was available for sale and could be had cheap. s been upset wit da grizz, but i don't see no need of him for lakers squad. a legit PG should be what dem need most imho. mayo would be a great addition to mavs squad imo, joining da mavs would start at 2, moving stevenson to da SF and relegating brian cardinal to the inactive list where he deserves to be

I don't know too. The 2 position is not their problem. It's the least of their problems. I don't know why they would want Mayo who is a 2.
The Lakers don't need a trade, they just need to pull their heads out of their asses. They have a stacked-ass, well-put-together roster machine. No reason these guys shouldn't have great success in this year's postseason. As is.
Artest reportedly wants to move out so a lot of trade rumors are going around the Lakers. I hate it but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out tbh.

Mayo won't help. They need another superstar Big to carry Kobe now that Pau is broken. They would win the ship with Kobe on Nene's shoulders.
