Just my 2 cents on "The Wrestler"....I didn't like particularly. It was ok, but, I wouldn't catch it again. I think it's fictional.
2 questions:
1. Is the wrestler that good? and is it based on a real character? I know it's a fictional story but wonder if it's inspired by anyone in particular?
2. And wow, is that what I was missing after I stopped watching ...Trish and Stacy? OMG!!!

i think it was supposed to be somewhat based on Jake the Snake Roberts with his family/drug issues.
i thought it was pretty good tho Culby's right in that it was pretty dramatized/fictionalized.
But not too many pro wrestling movies out there so i think its a must watch for the old school WWF fans.
There was a do entary about Roberts and his issues where he went back to his father's farm in it. There was some hints and innuendos by Roberts that molestation as a child was involved and that is what led to his substance abuse problems and ultimate downfall. The hints were veiled, but, reading between the lines you could make it out.
hmm sounds interesting, ill check it out. Jake the Snake was a fav of mine, considering he was always out of shape and looked more like your average WWF fan than an actual wrestler.
Rmember when they had that PPV event Legends of the WWF? The children and I looked forward to that like it was the end of the world. What a huge disappointment. They had a match with Snake where he was just strung out on drugs, grossly over weight. It was terribly sad.
Coco B Ware was there. Half the guys didn't even show up. It was rip off money wise, but, beyond that it was just horrible to behold these legends as almost skid row bums.
They didn't even have a locker room for them. They were just behind this curtain with no facilities and Roberts at one point turned his back on the camera and pissed in a garbage can.
Pretty epic seeing the rock back.

that was crazy that it has been 7 years until we have seen the rock in the wwe...funny how they didn't bleep any of rock's cursing he owned cena, and looks like there will be a cena vs rock match at wrestlemania this year which I'm going too, new face of wwe vs old face of wwe

My brother knocks on my door and tells me to change it there. I see the Rock and say "finally wrestling when it was good". Cena and what ever the champions name is.

Epic ing comeback. I've read rumors on different websites (Wrestlezone, etc.) stating that Vince has paid The Rock a huge amount of money to wrestle again in the WWE, which will lead to a Cena vs. Rock match at Wrestlemania. If that is true I am definitely ordering it, that combined with possibly Triple H's last match as well, against The Undertaker...
