I think [the Lakers] are the best team in the West, I really do," said Coach Gregg Popovich before the game.

Now Pop either 1.) Doesn't really believe this and is a ing liar and trying in vein to lull LA into a deeper sleep 2.) doesn't have confidence in his team just as Spur fan doesn't.

Personally I believe him. He knows what is about to happen come playoff time...just like last year when he said the Spurs were trying to hide from LA when the playoffs started...that mutha er was telling the truth I have no reason to not believe him this time.

Pop only said this for one reason. Think where the Lakers are now. They think they can flip the switch come playoff time amd just win it all again. They think they are fine and have nothing to worry about. Truth is, Jerry West was nicer to the Lakers than Pop. Pop is adding fuel to the idea that the Lakers have; the idea that they can win it all as they are now. Everyone in the world except for the Lakers and ESPN/TNT know that its not that simple. If they can bring it on whenever they would have brought it for the Heat, Spurs, Celtics, and Mavs. They did. They lost. Pop is doing is best Phil Jackson impersonation and it is apparently working.

The Lakers need to realize they have a lot of problems and if they want the 3-peat, theu need to get their act together and fix their problems. Offense continues to be terrible. The only reason their D was good last night was because the Spurs had trouble hitting wide open 3's. A couple go in and the middle opens up a lot more which in turn creates more space for Manu and Parker. Pop knows he can control what the Spurs do and how they play for the rest of the season. He can't control the Lakers... or can he?
