To me it's more about what is their style and iden y? You know the Spurs are going to get out and run and run a lot of designed sets. They will run when they can, but they rely on very consistent pick and roll, penetration and spacing.

Mavs, I can't figure out what their M.O. is.

I am watching the games, but nothing stands out to me for the Mavs. Dirk looks like he is just floating and he gets up a good amount of shots, but they are spread out throughout the game for the most part.

The offense is weird. The ball movement/player movement is usually good, but to me I don't see a constant/consistent game plan or sets.

Defensively, they don't stand out to me when you watch like a Boston or MIA, but they get the job done because they all stay pretty engaged.
Dirk knows what hes doing. He takes shots when we need them. You could see it tonight. Anytime I was thinking we really needed points, Dirk would drive into the paint and score.

The Mavs are definitely a slow team. They like to take their time and set up their offense and execute. They also rely on the pick and roll heavily.

I loved how Rajana Ronda had two wide open layups and tried to pile up assists with an extra pass and both time it failed.

Replay showed ridiculous grab, hold and pull by Garnett against Dirk to get the steal that set up the Celts last possession.
That's the kind of BS you have to overcome to beat the Celtics at home.

id say their MO is versatility. it seems like they find a way to adjust to whatever style of game is being played, whether physical, finesse, fast paced, grind out, whatever. they just find a way to adjust to the style and pull out wins. will be interesting to see how Peja and Roddy fit in when getting back. hopefully they can add some needed scoring punch without taking too much away from the solid team defense they have been playing.

da good doesn't come alone. a win is a win and i'll take this one, but it looks to me that a L woulda been a better result for us. a L would probably prompt a move that strengthens our squad wit a few good signings, or at least a move that trims away dos trashes. u s can't expect a team featuring dip s such as JET for example to win anything. managed b2b airballs during crunch minutes, im afraid even a d-leaguer like carroll would have made at least one of dem in dat situation

rondo is like the shaq of centers. in the 4th he is almost a liability because of his weaknesses. without west they are screwed sometimes going against zones

See, that is why Ashy Larry garners tremendous respect around here. He's up front with his intentions. So now, if he acts up, everyone knows where he is coming from.

I'd watch a game with Ashy Larry. But no with 41 Shoot Em. He might steal something or try to swoop your girlfriend.

much obliged .... with that said, you know it must be bad when a Lakers' fan is rooting for the Celtics ........

Gotta give the Mavs much props, that was a big win and sealed it with a nutsac run at the end of the game ........ usually when the C's have that cushion, it's a wrap

Strangely enough what I see from dallas is a lot of the old spurs when duncan was the highlighted piece. Dirk lives in the post these days...the post isn't quite as deep as duncan but it's the blocks.

He waits for a double or takes the shot, once the double comes the ball gets swung around the perimeter to an open 3ptr. There is a reason that they wanted a peja on the team.

The big change is chandler and the defensive culture change he has brought. Chandler may have been the absolute perfect pickup for the mavs.

Congrats mavs! Even though you overtook the Lakers for the second spot, it was a very nice win sons
