This is to the board in general no one in particular...To A Man Kevin Garnett Is The Truth...how much did you personally donate to the Katrinians... get off the dudes back he's imperfect but a great human being in Kool's book. I know what it's like to be profaned and maligned.

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2221292

Since Boston fan won’t step up and stop this chatter I will do it for them. All the KG bashing is BS. All things being equal I would take prime KG over Duncan any day. Duncan was good but KG was more versatile, passionate, and more of a leader. Just like Duncan fanboy berate Kobe for playing with Shaq I feel the same way with the Spurs tanking for Duncan and then Duncan being gifted with good talent.

If KG had consistently decent teams in his prime he would have done the same if not more than Duncan. The dude was stuck in Minny and he had the misfortune of playing with Marbury. The fact that KG came into the league before Duncan and is still to this day playing at a higher level than Timmy is testament to his conditioning and work ethic. Spur fan will say Duncan has more rings than KG, and Kool will say Kobe has more rings than Duncan so it’s a moot point.

So what the guy curses, pushes refs in the heat of the moment, and picks on little guys sometimes, it’s up to the league and opposing teams to stop it. If KG makes Pau his I’m not gonna get mad at KG that’s on Pau. I think KG is a stud and I absolutely love his at ude. I hate Boston but I love KG’s swagger…and I’d rather have him on my team than Pau TBH…

And to those Spur fans that say he’s dirty just look no further than Bruce Lee Bowen, Karate kicking people in the face and groin…and this argument is over. To those that says he picks only on little guys that’s not true either remember he did slap Timmy...

BR - I'm sure you or someone in your family personally benefited from KG's generosity during Katrina...you of all people ought to be ashamed of yourself.

That's very generous of him but what he does on the court is unprofessional, immature, and he deserves to be called out on it.

Proportionally, based on annual salary, I donated more. KG.
And, clearly, the OP defending someone slapping from the back.

Koolaid, you know of basketball, or you've only recently started following the game. KG is, will be, and has always been, in TD's shadow.

I would think a Laker fan of all people would judge a basketball player more for what he does on the court than off it.

Chances are someone is looking up that picture of Alan Keys right now, but I'll respond anyways. Why is it unprofessional? How many other professionals in the league do you see doing like KG does on a regular basis? Show me how slapping Tim Duncan in the back of the head as he tries to break up a fight is "professional".

Nobody gets to the NBA with a whole lot of compe ive fire. Is KG's fire that much greater than all the other guys in the league that don't act like an idiot on the court? I'm not saying "clean cut" and quiet is the only way for an athlete to be, but KG goes above and beyond any of his peers.

As for why it's immature, he does stuff on the court that my middle school coaches didn't stand for. If you can't control your "compe ive fire" enough to make avoid doing things that 12 years old don't do you're immature.

The reason that people hate on KG the hardest for doing these things is precisely because we know "it's a man's game". You ask me if I've played sports on any level, have you? Because if you pull some of his in a pickup game, where there aren't three refs and nobody's worrying about getting fines or suspended, you'll have a fight on your hands and KG's always the first to run from one when he starts .

KG has always tried to get mileage out of this persona that he wants it more that anyone else. Nothing but fake bravado.

Slapping Tim Duncan in the back of the head does not impress me in any way shape or form. It proves nothing other than the fact he never grew up. He never had to the way he was pampered in MN. Piece and Allen bailed him out in Boston.

His passion cost his team a game last night with a stupid foul. His diminished athletic ability kept him from reaching an alley opp ball for a dunk.

KG falls well behind TD in the pecking order. Sorry - KG has had a really nice career, but he can't measure up to Tim Duncan because he is erratic mentally. Maybe KG is a little fresher than Duncan now is because Tim was carrying his teams to championships and long playoff runs a lot more than KG. Minnesota management did the Joe Smith deal and screwed the Wolves out of draft pick assets for an scrub player. Tough luck Kevin.

Again, how like a Laker fan to think that kind of behavior is reflective of how a "man" should act.

Let me tell you something, if you think KG is a man because of all the childish bull and chest pounding he pulls during games, you're pretty much man child yourself.

Grow the up for christ sake! KG can be compe ive and not act like a ing 15 year old kid.

Like we really need 3rd worlders telling us how to act. You bas s kills each other over rice and beans that we drop to you from the sky.
yeah, thanks for that. That nutritious diet of rice and beans has allowed this third world bas to come in here and school you on how to act like a man. Its a win, win.

Ahhh how refreshing - only in the myopic view of Spur fan is KG’s on court behavior different than other players. So is “regular basis” your new “qualifier” for this type of behavior?

Fighting and other shenanigans is part of the game always has been and always will be and I accept it as such. The current league rules are nothing but a response to the Big Miami Heat / NY Knicks fights back in either 98 or 99 .

The league has always been “unprofessional” as you say, from the racists players and fans calling Bill Russell a ###### to Ron Artest kicking ass in the stands. KG is no different than those that came before him. Your view is nothing but a constant “Pussification” of the game itself. If it’s too much for you there’s always the WNBA.

Just like the dress code Stern ins uted that Duncan called re ed – remember that? I’m not saying let the inmates run the asylum but the game is played with passion and emotion and KG exemplifies that. I think you guys are just so used to this Mr. Goody two shoes at ude from Robinson and Duncan till you’ve become blinded to reality.

MJ arguably the leagues greatest player fought, cursed out opponents and punched out teammates, called them flaming gots, alike, yet the league still holds him up as it’s bastion of truth, so how’s that for professionalism and maturity.

For the record there are tons of players in the league that shouldn’t be, Luke Walton for starters. I know some street ballers whose game could transition to the pro’s and give it to some of the NBA’s best, but there is a business process and personal roadmap to make it to the league it’s survival of the fortunate not survival the fittest. Some don’t have the economic means and background to make it to that level. So don’t be a fool and have the mistaken view that all the best and most talented men are playing in the league based off compe ive fire. The league still has to appeal to a certain segment by diversifying it’s ranks to some degree and I understand that.

Your middle school example is pretty ridiculous but I expect no less from a Spur fan. 12 yr old kids are not businesses unto themselves, they can’t get a coach fired, they’re not bound by legalese and CBA’s, and many other things…and they should be taught both sides so that if they make it to the league they’re not caught off guard by a KG type elbow to the dome. I could go on and on…kids need to be tougher not pussies…You teach your kid too much of that goodie two shoe’s BS if you like and he’ll get eaten for lunch much like David Robinson was.

Getting into the heads of your opponents is a million dollar business and KG is the best in the business…

I've heard that Tim Duncan trains MMA and I know for a fact that he's a fan and good friends with Pete Spratt. In other words, he could kick Garnett's ass. + Matt Bonner already scared the out of him.

I spent a month working in a shelter (including a week out at the Air Force base in San Antonio) as a public health doctor and pediatirician and applaud this act but do not get too carried away a number of other athletes donated and people, including myself, donated a lot as well in regards to time and personal expense and donations without the publicity.

Garnett is a great humanitarian but his rest of his actions and boorish and repeatable on the court thuggish and in the locker room behavior stillldoes not make him a role model.
