wtf... Pay Verizon to use WiFi? $800?!?! Android could be such a great tablet OS, and they keep putting out overpriced crap like this. Drachen's hacked Nook color is the only decent iPad compe or, and that is just sad.

I don't think you have to worry about companies competing with Apple. Android phones are already blowing away the iPhone in capabilities. It's only a matter of time before the tablets follow.
I'm sure there will be a root in no time that unlocks the wifi.
It's actually Motorola. I read a while back they're not happy with the whole rooting thing and people actually being able to change what they put on the devices at will. Thus, they're going forward with the secure bootloaders and fuse bytes. Obviously, control-freak carriers completely agree.
I'm sure hacks/jailbreaks will appear from time to time, but if you didn't like Apple's closed nature, then it looks like Android is veering the same way, at least for some vendors.
Thats such bull , IMO. I pay for the hardware and if I want to manipulate the software I should be well within my rights to do so.
That being said, I'm never going to buy a tab tied to a cell carrier. I just don't see the point unless you want 3/4g usage and thats what I already have a smartphone for.

I think I've owned exactly one Motorola product in my life... the V551, which was a great cell phone at the time. Not gonna happen again.
HTC continues to be a trailblazer, ahead of everyone else in the game. Awesome company to buy from.
I will absolutely admit that I am disappointed in Motorola. Between this and handling of the Atrix (which I thought would be an absolute game changer, but not at those prices), I won't be buying Moto anytime soon. Luckily HTC and Samsung are doing quite well.

The atrix is $200 but the "bundle" with the laptop dock is $500. Or if you purchase the phone by itself for 200 then later purchase the laptop dock, the dock alone costs $500.
If you buy the laptop dock, AT&T makes you purchase tethering.

If it was priced right, it would lighten the overall load of what I carry every day. Plus I can't type for an extended period of time on a netbook. I would want the full keyboard. Lastly, I would never have to worry about such and such file being on such and such device.

What netbooks are you using without full keyboards? Jekka's 2 year old 10 in Asus netbook has a full keyboard on it.

They're all the same. Sprint is the same as those two as well. They're going to get what they can out of people because the vast majority of people out there have no idea that wifi on systems like this should not have to be unlocked. Tech savy people make up a small portion of the population and its easy to forget that when you spend a lot of time in places like this forum or you have smart friends.
Sprint has been good to me so far. I forgot to pay a bill for 6 days and they didn't even charge me for it.
I am talking about the width of the keyboard, not the various keys on there. Netbooks' keyboards are smaller and I have big hands making it difficult to type for extended periods of time.
Just setting up parental controls on my step-daughter's netbook was a pain in the ass.
Pfff. Blowing away? LOL. For a while I didn't really think you were an Android fanboy, just a guy that liked the EVO and bought it, but now it's pretty obvious you are, good job staying under the radar for a little while.
What? It's not a knock on the iPhone. Tech jumps forward really quickly in this day and age. Dual core processors in phones are nearly released, and the memory capacity is jumping ahead. I don't see how observing the increase in tech is indicative of my fanboyism. In another month or two, my Evo will be pretty dated by newer cell phone features and specs, just like the iPhone.
Nearly released is enough to be blown away?
Specs ain't the end all anyway, Verizon is releasing half year old tech that outsold anything else they've ever sold.
