Sure you lose Odom, which sucks, but you DON'T lose Bynum which is key. Bynum+Gasol is really all the size that the Lakers need to compete in the NBA. You throw in a decent veteran bigman, like Ratliff who they already have, and you're all set to go. Add Barnes into the mix and you have one of a team to reckon with.

Who the wants to see Kobe + Melo on the floor TOGETHER. Kobe can switch from having to be the do-everything guy to just focusing on a few things (i.e. distributing the ball, playing D, etc.) while Melo can do what Melo does best. Score like beast.
