They’re reporting that Oscar-winning actress Marion Cotillard, who previously worked with director Christopher Nolan in Inception, will be starring in the final Batman film. Being as Nolan has already cast two other actors from Inception in The Dark Knight Rises, Tom Hardy and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, this story feels more solid than most other rumors. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is set to appear in the upcomingmovie TheDarkKnight Rises, but he will not be playing The Joker, Robin, or Night Wing, as previously speculated.
He'll actually be playing a new villain who is connected to the first film Batman Begins. Sources say:

"Well he has signed on to the film in a villainous role previously undisclosed until now. Levitt will be portraying Alberto Falcone aka the Holiday Killer.
He is the estranged son of former mob boss Carmine Falcone (portrayed by TomWilkinson in BatmanBegins) who returns to Gotham to take over the underworld once fiercly ruled by his father before the arrival of Batman."

Heard Eva Green was also gonna be in the film. Getting really complex and confounding as far as roster, but I'm all for it with Green and Cotillard.

I understand, but he's either setting the table, flooding the cast and rumor mill or ing up the third flick, because unless you're setting the table or are gonna have an orgy scene with Vale, Ghul and Kyle, it makes zero sense to three love interests in one flick.

I guess he's an actual character in the mythology? I've never heard of him (I never really followed comics).

They're going 'realist' with Catwoman I'm sure, so at worst she's just a really good thief who likes cats (she won't get thrown out of a 10th story window only to be brought magically back to life when cats lick her). That doesn't bother me as much as the sheer number of villains. I hate it when they try to cram in too many villains ( , they could have left Two Face out of the last one).

This is approaching 'Batman and Robin' levels. Actually, in that movie I think there were only three villains. Maybe this film will be even 'better' than that one. The Dark Knight Rises: Return of the Bat-nipples.

as for the villain, I'd love Emily Blunt, that was a great suggestion. Anne Hathaway is not a good villain. Keira Knightley doesn't do american accents that well.... but maybe she could be the villain. She could pull it off, I think, and she is hot.

yeah i had the same reaction. tbh, nicholson is still my favorite joker, but the Dark Knight script wrote the Joker in a more interesting way. better script makes the actor look better. ledger did great though.

I agree. Marion Cotillard should be Catwoman. Her body and shape are more appropriate for the costume than Anne Hathaway in my opinion. Anne Hathaway should just play some business woman who's fooling around with Bruce Wayne.

But there was that guy who tried to blackmail Batman in the Dark Knight: Coleman Reese; Mr Reese = mysteries = enigma ?

Plus, he knows Batman's secret iden y, and Bane does too (maybe he got the info from Reese)

And Jooker might have secretly kidnapped and brainwashed Reese
