tbh Barea has played great the last month, but some mavfans forget how truly awful he was from October to the end of December. He was shooting something like 35% from the field and 13% from 3 (and still heaved up 2 threes a game). His +/- was one of the worst in the NBA too. What hes in right now could just be a hot streak and he could go back to playing like he was all year. Or it could be the other way around and he has developed his game.

Either way, to say JJ has much more potential than what he is playing at now isn't realistic.

Where did I say anything about him being Puerto Rican? Wtf is so hard to grasp about the fact that a 5'8" guy (any race) with limited athleticism and T-Rex arms is never gonna consistently be more than a change of pace spark plug type player.

    lol gray named Mav fan

funny you bring up consistency being the fact that barea has been the mavericks most consistent scorer for the past 2 months now. & everyone knows barea is 5"11.

The first notable 2 month stretch of an NBA player in his 5th season. Wow, he's really written the book on consistency. You're right, it only makes sense to think these last two months are how he's gonna play for the rest of his career and the first 4.5 years of his career were a bad fluke

    And bull he's anywhere close to 6'0". He's 5'8".

yeah but when he was doing that the mavs were the 2nd best team in the nba only like 1 game behind the spurs. but barea has finally found his game and teams cant stop him. barea is an offensive force and i believe he will only get better offensively as years progress.

how long did it take steve nash 4 or 5 years?

your failing hard. & yes sometimes it takes time for certain players and rick is a genius for having faith in barea and its showing now.

Yeah Carlisle is a genius for giving Barea PT over Beaubois in the playoffs last year. Benching Beaubois for the 4th quarter of game 6 after he brought Dallas back was a brilliant move on his part.

In Nash's 5th season he averaged 15 points and 7 assists (and that was the whole season, not a 2 month stretch). Barea will never sniff those numbers.

well that wouldnt be hard for barea bc hes already avg what 10 pts per game only avg 20 minutes a game? also avg 3.3 asisists?

round those numbers out per 40 and barea is avg 18 pts pr game with 7 assists. actually his numbers might be a bit better than nash's with more minutes.

& last year barea didnt even play much in the sa series jason kidd played all the minutes at pg and failed miserably. if anything barea should of started at pg in place of jason kidd.

    WE STACKED MUH FUHKA!!!!

Roddy looked like a damn fringe all-star in his first game back.

And for those downplaying it b/c he has had limited playing time and hasn't be scouted properly. . . stop acting scared. . . . . it won't hurt that bad. . . . . the I'm say, yes it will!!

    HAHAHA WE STACKED!!!!
