Are you saying that regardless of how you play the game defensively, the only thing that matters is your offensive numbers?

Stats are important. They don't tell the full story, but 8-24 tells a story of someone who took too many shots. 20 boards says you were crashing the boards. Assists and steals say you were active and alert.
Points are stats too, and the game is decided by points believe it or not. I've never seen a game decided by intangibles. Sure they exist and we know it, but in the end you have to put the ing ball into the ing hole.
You seem like someone who cares about defense when your team loses, because that's when the intangibles can be used in an argument, because they are subjective. After a win, you guys talk about rings and points and all that .
