LOL son andrew wiles benefited alot from cryptography and especially the rise of NPC in the past 50 years .. which led to a crazy interest in elliptical curves => imo in anotha 5-10 years any coulda done it. But props 2 dat , he was one focues mofo.
Btw it ain't all close as da most difficult problem in mathematics, it just hype like blake griffin in da dunk contest. Most difficult to prove is wheter P!=NP. Dat like da holy grail.
