Even if not, I still do it.
Theres no guarantee they would buy him out.
Even if not, I still do it.
I thought Dyess had a hefty trade kicker that pretty much eliminates him from most trades.
I love Nene for us. That would be a no-brainer. But it won't happen.
Why would the Nuggets offload the guy who is now probably their best and most consistent player (although not a guy who can carry you scoring-wise)?
Yeah rolling with three bigs would be a smart thing to do.
Prefaced my pipe dream scenario by saying "Knowing".
Given the cir stances, Denver did a damn great job with Melo. Props to them.
The situation doesn't look good on the James Anderson front and it's problematic. The biggest perimeter player Spurs have on the bench is Gary Neal. It isn't a comfortable situation for a team with championship aspirations.
Spurs should really consider doing a trade for a SF. Here is a list of realistic targets that can be get with Quinn's salary and/or who are paid the minimum:
Dominic McGuire
Derrick Brown
Joey Graham
Tracy Mcgrady
Reggie Williams
Chris Douglas-Roberts
Stephen Graham
Quinton Ross
Quincy Pondexter
Bill Walker
Donte Greene
Sonny Weems
Off course, Spurs will need to add a little something depending on the level of the player. To get the best ones, it will take a first round pick but some could be off the market.
I think Denver would prefer to keep Nene, but even if they were looking to move him, the wouldn't want what the Spurs have to offer. I think if the Spurs do anything, they will make a small move for a player the caliber of what's on Bruno's list. Add Mbah a Moute to that list for me.
Denver has quite a logjam of size at the moment. They wouldn't want Dice, Bonner or Splitter.
Ernest or Julio?
All quiet on the Spurs trade front. No need for the Spurs to make a trade with their record.
Or, as John Wayne used to say when riding through Indian country, "It's quiet, too quiet."
Mcgrady would be nice, so would Greene.
McGrady is actually playing pretty good basketball this year and has yet to miss a game with an injury...and despite the whole "never won a playoff series" stuff he has raised his level of play in every post season he's played in. He'd be great backing up RJ.
That said, he's not going anywhere unless he asks the Pistons to trade him. He has started almost every game for them since the first of the year and they seem to like him there.
SpearsNBAYahoo Marc J. Spears
Hornets have been shopping guard Marcus Thornton for a first round pick, sources tell Y!. Nets amongst interested teams.
Nice. Who needs Marcus Thornton when you have Marco Belinelli?![]()
What the spurs could use is:
1) Athletic SF/SG with some size
2) Athletic PF/C that can guard Mobile posts like Odom and Dirk, and block some shots when he needs to.
I doubt the spurs make any trades, but if the spurs are to add to their roster, look for it to happen after the trade deadline, when players are being bought out, it's probably more financially feasible for the spurs and usually those players being bought out are looking to join a le Contender which the spurs are.
Here are some Players being rumored to seek a buy-out:
Rip Hamilton
Joel Pryzibilla
Troy Murphy
.... Just to name a few
When the Spurs FO is totally quiet the chance of some kind of move is the highest - i believe the Spurs may pull a minor one out of the hat yet.
Blazers looking to trade Camby but the dude makes 9 mil/year. why the did they give him that kind of money.
I think he's still playing under the contract Denver gave him however many years ago.
I like Camby but that's still too much $ for a 36 year old center with prior health problems especially for a backup.
I believe he signed an extension with Portland last year.
the spurs need nobody
i would like the spurs to trade for......wait for it, wait for it........ACTION JACKSON!
Jerry Callo...with a C. Jerry Gallo is dead.
