LAL/POR would be an entertaining first-round matchup...too bad it would only last 5 games before the Lakers would move on.

Our announcers are homers, but that's why they're so endearing! We love them! Ha Ha!
I can deal with homers but those guys are just too much. I would rather listen to a drunk Tommy Heinsohn.

Steve Blake tonight. 17 min. 0-1. 0 pts, 0 rebounds, 1 assist with a team leading -15. Wtf kind of player is that? The ballboy can put up the same stats.

this is dam near heresy...and I never thought I'd live to see the day but he's officially worse than Luke..I can't stand the site of him...I'd rather have Smush Parker...I'm hurting over the Blake signing...he literally gives me a sickening feeling when he checks into the game....I 've never wanted to kick someone's ass more...

LOL the pressure of being a Laker has destroyed better players than Steve Blake ...

Im ok with him not being what we thought but I can't take him being "scared" to shoot.

Where did all those effing Laker fans come from anyway? I haven't seen that many in the Rose Garden in years.

    And another thing...

The refs actually helped the Lakers with the fouls disparity last night. We missed 9 ing free throws! If we make our free throws we win the game. Simple as that. Unbeavable.

PORTLAND, Ore. -- After overcoming a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter, Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol had a little talk about how the Lakers were going to put the Trail Blazers away in overtime.
Gasol's job was to be aggressive at the start, before Bryant put it away in the end. And that's exactly what happened.
Bryant scored 37 points and Los Angeles stopped Portland's season-best, six-game winning streak with a 106-101 victory Wednesday night.

    More on the Lakers

Bryant said he knew Portland was thinking he would take over in OT, so he said to Gasol: "'It's me and you. We're going to go to you, you go to work and do what you do best. Bring us home.' And he did that."

    ---------

Vintage Kobe last night. Twixt the end of reg & the OT Bryant was imploring Gasol per the above info. It was beautiful.

That's the mistake Pierce made. Just forgot who he was guarding for a split second. But, it was a enough.

Zing, went the strings. Just like that.

Dude, you have no idea what it's like for a Laker game at the Rose Garden. I think it's worse than Boston since it's a closer proximity and there are more Laker fans on the West coast. I honestly expect somebody to get shot one of these days.

Interesting take from Dave at Blazers Edge last night...

Some will say the Lakers got lucky with their barrage of threes but keep in mind that the Blazers as currently cons uted were forced to cede those shots to prevent a flood of points inside. L.A. didn't get lucky, they were just too big and talented to ignore in the paint.

That said, it struck me tonight that whoever built this team, at least in theory, built a Laker-killing machine. Imagine the results if the Blazers were healthy with Greg Oden, Marcus Camby, and Joel Przybilla to throw in the middle on defense. Imagine no more open threes, instead Batum and Matthews and Fernandez darting everywhere to disrupt shots and dribbles. Imagine Aldridge pounding Gasol and Roy keeping up with Bryant in the scoring department. I'm not saying the Blazers would be the best team in the league, I'm saying they'd cream this particular team 3 times out of 4 because they were built to do just that. It doesn't matter, of course. Nobody's healthy. That's the difference between imagination and championships.

We deep here in Texas too and i have been to road games in SA MEM and DAL ...and they havent been THAT bad ...
TBH I think part of the issue is the arrogance of our fanbase. The second biggest issue is the hatred these teams have for us for winning, the media hype and acting like we own the place ...when we visit. I admit i yell scream and cheer but I also give props to the other team, much like i do here ...

When i was at the aT&T with my wife, kids and mom all in Lakers gear we got heckled a bit but it was never disrespectful. Dallas was bit more rowdy and Memphis fans tried to get in my face ...and I attended that game (Kobe passing West) on my own ...wasnt too bad either. TBH only time i have ever been "concerned" ata sporting event was WCF Lakers vs. Blazers and that was from "loser" Laker fans ... I thought it was funny but my buddies wife was with us and preganant and I just wanted to make sure she was safe. My buddy is Mexican and a big dude and a Raider fan, but his wife is white girl from simi she was terrified ...LOL.
