So looking forward to this.![]()

Here is what I got out of that...BioWare launches its multiplatform Dragon Age II demo on February 22, and hoping to encourage downloads, the developer's offering two special items as incentives should the demo hit 1 million downloads before March 1.
If the demo reaches that download milestone on the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 combined by the deadline, the entire community will receive in-game items that give bonuses to characters' money and experience stats.
There's a small caveat: gamers will have actually to log into their EA accounts in order to be counted. The reward items are represented as books: "The Far Cliffs of Kirkwall" provides the extra money, and "Lothering's Lament" offers the XP boost.
2009's Dragon Age: Origins was widely critically-acclaimed, shipping over 3 million units during the season of its initial launch. Several DLC packs have been released for the game since then, and the sequel is considered highly-anticipated.
The demo takes players through the prologue of the game, wherein they choose from among three character classes and are introduced to Kirkwall, a new location within the franchise's world.
They will also meet Isabela, a smuggler who is one of the game's romantic prospects. Completing the demo unlocks a dwarven blade called Hayder's Razor, which will provide boosts to various abilities in the full release of the game.
Dragon Age 2 demo hits tomorrow. Check that .
yeah. I need to pick one of my 3-4 playthroughs on Origins and finish the damn thing before I pick up 2, though.
PC demo is up for download....

downloading at a painfully slow 120kbps
should be done right when I get home though at that rate.![]()
OK, so got home and the download failed at right around 1gb
I hate having all kinds of crap running on my systems but I went ahead and installed Free Download Manager. Bioware is capping the DL speed. With a manager I was able to download in like 10 minutes.
I suggest getting a DL manager if you dont want to wait or the DL fails halfway through.
I played the demo and all I can say it feels like a console game, kinda like they did with mass effect 2, kinda sucks for PC gamers but still is going to be a great game.
Played through this several times earlier. It's really good. The combat has been improved and each class has a completely different feel. The demo does a good job showing you what the gameplay will be like early and later in the game. I'll be playing a rogue my first playthough.
Really can't wait for this.
D/L demo now from LIVE before my membership expires in like 2 days![]()
Just played it through... kinda short...
Graphics are amazing, tbh... combat is nice and improved... what I didn't like was that there's no auto-level up for companions...
PCGamer magazine gave DA2 a 94/100 and said "The best RPG combat ever. Not gaming's best story, but maybe its best storytelling. Darker, sexier better." didn't want to distort the thread, so here are the magazine scans below:

I'm kind of glad I passed up Mass Effect 2 to play Dragon Age Origins. What a great game and I haven't been this engrossed in a game for a long time. I still need the DLC for Origins and I heard it would have been better if I did the DLC first instead of beating the game but it was too late when I found out about that. I'm about to fight the final boss.
Dragon Age 2 is a first day purchase for me.
looks sick
You made a mistake....
Granted, Dragon Age is an awesome game, I love it, but you have NO IDEA what you are missing by passing up ME2.
Well after playing both the Xbox and PC versions, I'm just going to stick with Xbox (had it preordered anyway). The game is definitely prettier and plays smoother on PC, but I just can't get used to the controls. This is one game that needs a gamepad IMO.
And after playing all combinations of classes, the archer does by far the most DPS, which is surprising. I rarely used archery in Origins because it wasn't that effective compared to melee or magic. And with all rogue abilities available (minus dual wielding), the archer may be the way to go for my first playthrough.
when's thsi game comin' out again?
Next Tuesday(8th)
It is a console game, Bioware made it clear that its targeting console gamers with Dragon Age 2, tactical view is gone and there will be no modding as well, so yeah aside from the game looking a little better, there's no reason to get it for PC.
I just finished playing the demo on the 360 and i will be getting it for 360, so smooth and it plays great on a controller.
I might be getting it for PC when price goes down on steam.
