The Houston Rockets appear to be getting closer to a trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves that would give them former lottery pick Jonny Flynn. The trade, as it stands right now, would send Aaron Brooks or Jared Jeffries to the Timberwolves in exchange for Flynn, with draft picks also possibly involved, according to CBS Sports' Ken Berger.
Flynn has been a disappointment in his two years in the NBA, and the Timberwolves appear to want to move on and admit they made a mistake picking him so high. Trading him for Brooks would provide an upgrade, though Brooks is an impending free agent. If Jeffries is involved, other players would probably have to be involved as well.
For Houston, the motivation seems to be financial. The team doesn't appear inclined to re-sign Brooks after the season, so if he is the piece heading to the Timberwovles for Flynn, it would mean the Rockets turned nothing into something, even if Flynn has been a disappointment. Trading Jeffries and his $6.9 million salary would put the Rockets closer to being under the luxury tax and would save a boatload of money.
We would be trading away starters for D-Leaguers. Morey is clearing Salary Cap. It's a gamble to think they might turn into something and at worst, you just waive them.
Morey should be fired if he makes either one of these deals

Maybe we can trade them the rights to valanoisssisssess sspalonousssisss for Scola. We just need to develop a statistical model to show the value of VS and morey will jump on it.

Count me cynical but I don't think Morey is done yet. He is still trying to negotiate for another big using Courtney Lee/Hill/Miller/Jeffries
