For the record, I'm trying to be a little tougher with grades as of late. Yes, a win does mean that we played well, but if we play a team that's .500 and we only win by 2, can you really say that all of our players should be a C or above? I don't think so. Therefore, I'm trying to push the grades down to more realistic levels as per each player's capabilities.

Good read. But OKC is 36-20... you could have been a little bit more generous

The worst game of Ginobili's career was likely G4 of the 07 Finals.
0-8 from the field and not much else.

He scored 3 miserable points on FTs.

All in the final minute of the game.

Spurs won by THOSE 3 (three) points.

    "He's Manu Ginobili".

    Simply different.

At any rate, good grades, a bit harsh, it was a very good game to watch.

Our guys put up good numbers. But 37 in the 1st quarter to the Thunder is inexcusable regardless of how good they are. Everyone got a slight dock for a lack of defense. Our defense needs to get it's act together and start playing consistently. I think it'll happen, though. Our guys showed some fire last night and as soon as that flagrant went down, we started dismantling the Thunder. I just hope the complacency doesn't lapse over into game 1 of the playoffs.

Perkins will be around: no need for flagrants to wake them up.

I want to argue with Dice's grade a bit. He hasn't in for the first quarter of the Thunder don't ever get stopped. He had a number of athletic stops against Westbrook and its not his fault that for much of the night Pop was playing a front court combo of either him or Blair and Bonner with 3 guards and no real small forward. Jefferson also played about 6 minutes of small ball power-forward.

I'd also argue Bonner a little, he didn't get torched on defense. Rebounded to the best of his abilities, and had no turn overs.

Jefferson played 28 minutes, Anderson didn't play (I think, by the box score he was on the court for 20 seconds) Novak didn't play. That means for 20 minutes this game you had at best Manu playing sf a fairly slight 6'6" and Hill for a little bit at 6'2" (Neal was playing offense there Hill defense). I swear for a bit I saw a line up of Blair, Bonner, Neal, Hill and Parker, which gives you a no inside presence on defense and very little on offense.

The spurs guards this year are a collectively undersized bunch as well in that no one is really small for his position but they are all on the smaller end of things.

Yeh, you're right, without those 3 pts, we probably would have ended losing the finals 4-3 or something...

Manu is my favorite player too, but let's stay realistic, there's no need of overating his impact/performances, he's already up there...

BTW Thanks for the grades CryHavoc! I missed them...

I agree overall, except that TP and Bonner, BECAUSE of their repective clutch plays (+ Tony in the 1st to calm down/match Westbrook) deserved better grades.

IMO clutchness should up the grade, that's what BB is about, you can always redeem yourself, only the final result count...

    That's why Manu is Manu...

In fact, it was game 3.

Manu was the best scorer of the game 4 with 27 points... because he's Manu Ginobili !

I think I've established myself as the forum know-it-all. I'm just that much smarter than the rest of you. So believe me when I say: Cry Havocs game thoughts suck, and so does he. If you can't trust me, who can you trust?

Now stop with the "ignore it" advice when it's plastered to the front page of my forum. OK? Thanks.

somebody needs to find blair. he's been missing since the bulls game.

as for dice, i don't think he and/or pop expected him to play.

i would give bonner a C+ just for that crucial rebound towards the end of the game.
