I really wish Hill's true friends would told him how pathetic he was tonight (not that the rest of the team was any better). But seriously he needs to wake up.
Sloppy game. Fight back against Cleveland tomorrow.

You're a damn NBA player
Manu needs to suck it up these next few weeks, and pop needs him to play in the mid 30's the next few games running the point guard.
Manu will rest the last few games of the season, I don't see a big deal if Manu plays a little more, he needs to be playing at a high level with more minutes, he defintley isn't right now, and surely won't when he's sitting on the bench .
It's only one game against a team we have struggled with even when completely healthy. If we lose to CLE then I could see the Spurs having to take this route although it would not be a good thing for our potential success.
Wow didn't see the game... looks like we got our asses handed to us.
What skills or assets makes Quinn a point guard besides his size and his ability to bring the ball up the court in half-court sets?
Please enlighten me.
He can't create offense for others, he can't create for himself, he can't even have a positive effect on the defensive end guarding point guards. He just a brings the ball up the court in half-court sets and passes the ball to the "real" creator of the offense and then becomes a spot up shooter. (Something Neal already is.)
I get so tired of idiots thinking every labeled PG in the league is a true "point guard". When their role can be easily replaced by a shooting guard who does the same .
Quinn is not a true point guard. He's an inefficient spot up shooter.
LOL not saying he should play a lot of minutes.... but today at some critical times... Pop gave Hill the ball instead of Manu... Pop was trying to replace Tony with Hill ... even with Tony Pop gives the ball to Manu at some critical situations.. but today he tried to force hill and he FAILED.
Since maybe the game in Orlando.
On the other hand Tyson Chandler messed up his ankle pretty bad tonight. Injuries all around.
i thought the new orleans game was pretty bad too
The fact that he has been playing PG all season for us. The fact that he has practiced every day as the backup PG and knows the sets. Throwing Neal back there without any prior practice or knowledge on how to run the point in this system is a re ed accusation and would be setting himself up for failure.
Nobody is defending Quinn's skills here, I wish we had a better 3rd string PG but we don't. Neal is not a backup PG

He's a PG, because he's short and White, tbh..
Lets turn Neal into Roger Mason jr great idea.
I was out of town and missed that one.
What part of "point guard" do you fail to understand? He was a point guard in high school, in four years at Notre Dame, and in the D League. He's not going to be held out of the first game without Parker in the lineup.
Really though... after the game Sunday and then losing Tony... you know they were going to be out for blood.
i dont really get the point of this argument. why waste your time arguing about Chris Quinn who'll get about 5-10 mins at most while TP is out?
you really think that playing Neal/Manu at the PG spot is gonna keep us from getting curbstomped tonight?
Fact is that it's up to Hill to be adequate at the pg spot while TP is out and he completely the bed. Quinn is completely irrelevant to our success in these next couple of weeks.
Roger Mason was fine bringing the ball up the court ( something Quinn did tonight; something Neal can do equally as well as Quinn).
What Roger Mason sucked at was creating and trying to be the facilitator in half-court sets trying to create from PnR opportunities. (Something Mason failed at extremely from the SG and PG position; which is also something Quinn can't do either-- Neal has had some recent success at this particular aspect though).
Anyway you obviously don't understand what I'm trying to say.
It's entirely possible that Quinn is overmatched and doesn't have the talent to play at the level he was asked to, bt he's a true point guard. Condsidering this is the first game of the season where nobody in the starting lineup managed to score in double figures, I'm unsure how some of you nimrods are blaming it on Quinn or Splitter.
Considering the way Hill played, isn't it possible that playing anyone but him at the point would have changed the game?
If Chris Quinn is a true point guard then so was Steve Kerr.
At least when we get beat we get our collective asses handed to us in royal fashion. When we stink, we really stink...! Now we can look forward to a stretch of EZ games...i.e., the Cavs, Heat & Lakers. Yeow boy, get ready for that 8 second ride.

Nash got an MVP one year because he got hurt and the Suns went into the tank. Nobody ever mentioned that they refused to carry another point guard on their roster either. Time to start writing to the voters!
