Why are people making the Mavs money a big difference? They are over the tax. I cannot see the paying double (dollar for dollar tax) for a guy who doesn't put them over the top.
Holy Brewer you're not ing LeBron.

Cause its Cubes we're talking about. He might do it just to spite us.
He was probably requested to wait until he clears waivers before he announces anything. It's understandable.
Always nice to know Cuban is overpaying, especially for no result whatsoever.
Cubes has not shown the desire this seaon to over pay for anything. In fact, he tightened the belt at the worst time.
He knows that Brewer isn't good enough (based on his production to date) to way over pay for. He knows Brewer isn't the true final piece for the Spurs either and he is right. Brewer is good for the Spurs but not so good that he has to outbid in order to keep him from the Spurs.
IMO the money isn't a real issue, even if the Mavs have more to spend.
How many times has Cuban signed a player with the sole intent of screwing the Spurs, and no intent of all to improve his team?
Seriously, Spur fans crack me up with their ignorant hatred of Cuban, acting like he is just some worthless, illogical piece of . The dude won't do like that unless it improves his team. And I don't think we can begin to count the number of times he has talked about his incredible respect for the Spurs and their organization, despite the whole Mavs/Spurs rivalry.
I can say one thing in favor of Cuban, is that he cares about his team. The NBA would be better if all the owners cared at least half as much as he does about their team. So in this sense I respect him.
On the other hand he must be a pretty bad communicator because his respect for the Spurs doesn't necessarily come through when he compares the Riverwalk to an open sewer...
The riverwalk != Spurs.
lol spurs fans . So butthurt that CB has no interest in that team.
Hey Spurs fan tell me how "CIA Pop" is plotting to
get Corey Brewer? lol
I'd call San Antonio a proxy to the Spurs, personally.
Cuban's a good owner, but hes a whiny Phillip.![]()
Yes, because the Spurs have anything and everything to do with the Riverwalk![]()

The opportunity hasn't presented itself yet. Take off your shining armor for a moment. If it makes good business sense at the end of the day, Cubes will pull the trigger. In this context it makes sense for him to pull the trigger as it enhances his teams chances through subtraction from another. And, oh yeah he actually gets a good talent in this case. 4-6 mil wont break him obviously, but you can't tell me that Cubes doesn't have a penchant for overpaying marginal talent.
If it does go down like that, most other GM's are sure to get a good chuckle out of it (including RC I'd suspect).
If I recall, it was Cuban himself who said after the Spurs beat the Mavs that he would be pulling for the Spurs to win it all, due to an extreme level of respect he has for them.
That's the whole point to it being CIA....
We could tell you, but then we'd have to kill you.![]()
Don't be a whiny got. I expected something better from you. Am I wrong about Cubses loose fiscal policy? How many butthurt threads have we seen about Haywood, et al. in the NBA forum?
The Perception, real or not, of Cuban to non Mav fans, is a good owner, but a guy that whines and rants when the cameras are pointed at him at courtside. He comes off as a spoiled little kid.
How about you quit being a whiny got claiming that Cuban would sign a guy just to spite the Spurs even if the guy is of no use or purpose to his team? Or if you still wish to make this claim, at least give some shreds of reasonable evidence to help lead us to understand why you would make such a claim, other than "cuban hates the spurs!!!!!!
he has too much money and loves to spend it!!!!!!!
"
Give me a break you stupid .
I like Cuban. Hes good for the league and hes good for the Mavs. Not sure why SpurFan still gets butthurt because a rival owner actually gives a about his team.
With that said, Jason Terry is still a got.
Good for him. It still doesnt give us any reason to believe that he would sign a guy that the Spurs are interested in, just to "hurt" the Spurs, despite him having no use for him on the Mavericks.
