working nights sucks i work everyday out of the week minus sunday, so now watching fights is damn near impossible, which is why im not really participating this year
Champ Mauricio “Shogun” Rua vs. Jon Jones-- Anyone who is not picking Jones is dumber than a duffle bag stuffed full of rotton foreskins. (see dallaskd's pick)
*Yup, I'm that dumb. Pick changed 03-12-2011.
Urijah Faber vs. Eddie Wineland -- Faber better pull his head out of his ass and start killing people again.
Jim Miller vs. Kamal Shalorus -- Even though Kamal is like 89 years old, he can bang.
Yoshihiro Akiyama vs. Nate Marquardt -- I never pick Asians. Ever.
Mirko Cro Cop vs. Brendan Schaub -- LOL, Hybrid... What a cunning runt.

Shogun Rua vs. Jon Jones
Urijah Faber vs. Eddie Wineland
Jim Miller vs. Kamal Shalorus
Yoshihiro Akiyama vs. Nate Marquardt
Mirko Cro Cop vs. Brendan Schaub
MAIN CARD
UFC Light Heavyweight Championship: Mauricio “Shogun” Rua vs. Jon Jones
- I like Jones, even though I initially hated him for wrecking Hamill. I want him to reign as LHW Champ, beat up Anderson Silva, then move up to Heavyweight and clean them out too. But I believe in Rua, even when it seems like he has no chance in , and I hope he can defend his le at least once.
Urijah Faber vs. Eddie Wineland
- Faber's getting old, but not Wineland old. :p
Jim Miller vs. Kamal Shalorus
- Who thought this fight was a good idea?
Yoshihiro Akiyama vs. Nate Marquardt
- Marquardt is faster and stronger than the dwindling Akiyama. Don't get me wrong, I like Sexyama, but against UFC compe ion he's a gate keeper.
Mirko Cro Cop vs. Brendan Schaub
- Could get ugly real fast if Schaub puts Cro Cop against the cage or in the clinch, but I think Cro Cop will stalk him to a decision.
This card is all about the main event, pretty meh otherwise.
Shogun Rua vs. Jon Jones
Urijah Faber vs. Eddie Wineland
Jim Miller vs. Kamal Shalorus
Yoshihiro Akiyama vs. Nate Marquardt
Mirko Cro Cop vs. Brendan Schaub
damn.. people underestimating how good shogun is. the dude has had 3 reconstructive surgeries on the same knee and is still the best there is..
man i want PRIDE back, the ufc

UFC has put in rules to protect fighters from guys like Wandy and Shogun
haha yea
I mean really they should keep Knees to down opponent at least.
Vicious soccer kicks and stomps by Shougun, he would still dominate the wolrd of mma.
Right now it's tough cause Jones is on a great flow and has the best available camp in the world behind him.
So excited about this fight !
Jones is absolutely going to DESTROY Rua! He physically overmatches him. The dude is a freak.
UFC doesn't allow kicks to an opponent's head when he's down, but they do allow elbows to the head. Jon Jones probably has the nastiest elbows in the sport so he is going to win this thing easily.
I don't think Pride Shogun is around anymore coming off all those injuries. He may beat Jones because Jones is so inexperienced but Pride Shogun has not been around for a long time..
I agree, it is going to be a great match because they are such great fighters. They both have things they have to worry about, other than the obvious fighting attributes, Jones with the experience and shogun with the performance after his knee surgery...
People act like his first fight with Machida was a blow-out. It wasn't, i had him winning a close fight 3 rds to 2. 2nd fight Machida went away from what he usually does and got over-aggressive. Shogun is a great fighter but he is going to have loads of trouble stopping Jones from putting him down and beating him up unless he catches him coming in with a huge knee or kick..
Jones is a beast the 205 class has not seen..
Jones is 6-4 and Rua is 6-1. That's going to make a HUGE difference in the fight.
perhaps, but he has beat alistair overeem who is 6'5, 260. i think shogun has the speed to get inside Jones' reach. the guy is back. His first two fights in the UFC were lousy (still recovering from his 3rd knee surgury) but if what he showed in the Liddell and Machida fights stay true, Jones is going to have his hands full.
Bones needs to take this one to the mat. I havnt really seen Jones' double leg yet. All of his take downs have been in the clinch. some where he has to avoid with Rua at all costs. Shogun will eat him alive with knees if they tie up. Cant wait to see how this plays out. I think its going to be a stand up war with someone getting KO'd and im leaning heavily on Shogun based on experience
I think if it goes to a clinch Rua will be in trouble. The only chance Shogun has is if he lands a lucky kick to the head.
Rua needs to chop the legs down, close the distance and blast, then look out for the Judo throws to avoid getting mounted. He's disciplined and strong enough to win this fight.
As this fight gets closer i am leaning more towards Shogun. I don't know Dallas may be correct. Jones might not be ready..
I like Jones, but Shogun is a different tier of fighter. If this was baseball it be like getting thrown from AAA into the World Series on 3 weeks notice
