Nah. It's backwards. Mormonism is clearly a fantasy and people live sometimes awful, repressed lives because of it; it's no coincidence that Utah consumes more anti-depressants, opiates and pornography than any other American state. Just because there are principles involved doesn't mean it can't be described as archaic and weird. Jihadists live by principles too, that doesn't preclude their being totally ed.
Considering the whole "one mighty and strong" prophesy that's a fundamental part of MAINSTREAM mormon doctrine. Y'know, the supposed emergence of a person/deity prophesied to appear and 'set in order' the original conception of mormonism, I would say that plenty of mormons look forward to the return of polygamy. Whether they know it or not, mainstream mormonism is the splinter group, the FLDS are true to Joseph Smith and mainstream mormonism to this day predicts a reunion between the two.
