I just did some research and saw that during the entire Tim Duncan Era, the Spurs have had a winning percentage of at least .600 or better EVERY SINGLE YEAR, with last season being the worst. In other words, for 14 years in a row (including the current season), the Spurs have won at least 60% of their regular season games. That is AMAZING!! I wonder if that's an NBA record. If not, it has to be close.

I looked to see if any of the other best-of-the-best, all-time greats could make that claim, and couldn't find one, not even Kareem or Bill Russell. Tim Duncan, as far as I know, is the only one who has accomplished that feat.

If the Spurs tied the Lakers for consecutive 50-win seasons this year, if you include the lockout year (either pro-rated or through percentages) they've already beaten them.

That's right, because if you adjust the percentage for that season over 82 games, that would have put the Spurs at either 60 or 61 wins.

They did have a dominant team back in the day, but the Bill Russell-era Celtics streak of .600 basketball ended at 12 years. They went 48-34 (.585 pct) during the '68-'69 season, which was Bill Russell's last year. The Larry Bird-era Celtics had their streak end at 9, after going 57-25 in the '87-'88 season. The next year they went 42-40.

That's right, because if you adjust the percentage for that season over 82 games, that would have put the Spurs at either 60 or 61 wins.

Actually, if you properly adjust the percentage for that season, you have to remember that they started off 6-8. Once they started to click, they went .861, which is a 71 win pace, or 65 games despite the slow start.

Good point OV!!! I didn't think of that......And to think, after the 6-8 start, everybody wanted us to fire Pop and trade David Robinson.

Actually Duncan is closer to the .700 winning percentage mark, up to may 22 of 2009 he was:

Actually, TD is back over the .700 mark for his career now.
