There definitely wouldn't be usernames like "Kobe_5_Duncan_4," that's for sure.
Funny, I don't remember anyone having to point out how many more rings MJ had than an individual contemporary to make the case that he was the better player...
Yes
No
Exactly.
Other fans come here for how fun it is to rip on the most delusional fanbase in pro sports.

You're just not very smart.
Spurs are one of three teams that could get out of the West, along with the Mavs and your beatpiece, Lakers.
+1 / cosign / qft
I've never felt the Spurs fully lived up to their part in the rivalry.
Yeah, the information superhighway seems a bit different nowadays.
More astute insight from such a bright fellow.
Actually the Spurs/Lakers rivalry was a pretty good one back in the early 80's, before the Spurs/Mavs started heating up.
Were you even around then? Obviously not because it was brought up a lot that he tied Kareems total and surpassed Magics.
I don't take issue with it. Like I said, I like the full throttle Kobe loving mode. It's who you have always been. Silly you've tried to hide as long as you have. Must be liberating to come out of the closet.
Why would lifelong die hard fan like Tipsy say that your team is "not built for the playoffs" then?
What do you think he sees that you don't since you think your team has a chance to win the conference?
I thinks its a Rivalry.
I Love it even more, since we dominate this Rivalry.
I've never hid the fact that I have the highest respect for the greatest player of this generation.
So where do the Spurs thud this season in your eyes? First round? 2nd round?
I said they couldn't win the chip, not that they couldn't Win the conference.
Depends on seeding. I could see the maverick's beating the Lakers in the semis and all bets would be off for the conference finals if its maverick / spur.
I know a lot of my friends share my opinion...
Of course it's a rivalry when you have another team in the conference sharing trips to the finals for over a decade. But it is a shared respect type of rivalry and the talking stems from the compe ion. The Celtic rivaly is pure hatred. It's passed on from generation to generation for 40+ years. There is no respect for the green pukes.
So in other words... In Lakerland it's a rivalry. Just not nearly to the same degree as the only one that matters.
I said slim. Not like I'm going to quit watching the NBA if it doesn't happen. But depending on seedlings i could see them making the wcf which would be a successful season for Mr Holt. I know you literally love the game of basketball, but it is a business.
Yes, it's obviously a rivalry..it's not an intense or hateful rivalry, but it's certainly compe ive enough to be considered a rivalry..if 2 teams dominate a conference for a significant time span, and both teams beat other on the road to multiple les, it's certainly a rivalry..
While the Lakers have gotten the best of the Spurs, this isn't a fabricated rivalry, where one of the teams never has the upper hand(a type of rivarly with many examples)..the Spurs beat the Lakers on the road to the '99 and 2003 les, so it's not like they haven't had any success in this rivalry..
"I may be done with the NBA for a while"
Glad you picked up on the reference. What's more amusing to me is your obsession with a game an organization and a player, all while being mentally incapable of separating the sport from the business.
Yeah, that's what it is... I fail to recognize the NBA as a business.
Everyone knows that stupid basketball moves leads to bad business. Not always in the immediate but certainly in the long term.
Long live Peter Holt's earnings though!![]()
I think that it is. Solid front offices, solid teams, the fans hate each other. I think it is. One could probably argue that it is more of a rivalry for Spurs fans than for Lakers fans, just based on the history. In all truth though, I don't give a rats ass if it is or isn't. I just love it when Lakers fans get their feathers all ruffled after the Spurs beat the Lakers. When I think about it, the Spurs are the only team to have a winning record against the Lakers the past few years (regular season :P).
I think that if the Spurs top the Lakers in the playoffs this season (if they meet there), then the Lakers and their fans might acknowledge a rivalry. I mean, this is supposed to be a 3 peat year.
Was Kareem considered an MJ contemporary? Was there any argument about whether Jordan was the best player of his era 14-15 years into the league?
Contemporary; Michael Jordan... look em up.
That Trainwreck, he's a smart one.![]()
