We get most of our oil from Mexico and Canada. But, issues with oil over there ripple across the globe.
if spursfan hates gas prices now what would happen if revolt takes place here, and it certainly is possible:

How many 1000s US military stationed in SA since the Gulf War?
You really think the US will even ALLOW that to happen in Saudi Arabia? I'm 100% confident that right now there are black ops forces in Saudi trying to quell that .
your sources must be excellent
I'm nothing but sympathetic to these rebellions, US ally or not. This is what the power of people can achieve. We may not like the outcome of these uprisings, but the will of the people, in any country, is preferable to the will of an autocratic dictator.
History is a funny thing, those people in the middle east were us (Americans) in the mid-late 1700's.
Personally, I'm comforted when I see popular uprisings succeed. Our government should find a way to coexist peacefully with whatever new governments pop up in the wake of these rebellions. There is a huge opportunity here, let's see if our pols/dips can find a way to not it up...
lol wishful thinking
After 2003? Close to zero.
All part of our appeasing Osama Bin Laden.
Why coexist peacefully when you can just try to make them your subjects instead? I agree with you on all accounts.
Except they don't share ANY of our values.
In America, we don't believe in killing people who convert from Christianity to another religion.
Not one?
Really?
Yes, every Muslim in the world believes this and wants to kill you too, Darrin. In America, we don't believe in killing people who convert from Christianity to another religion.
You are really quite ignorant.
Your counter sources?
There never were/aren't any extremist groups in the US, right? KKK never existed, and doesn't exist to this day, I guess...
Not every muslim is extremist, btw
I'm thinking "drill baby drill" will solve our oil issues. Pretty simple.
I repeat, US oilcos' priority is drilling for natural gas, cheaper, quicker, to find and to extract, unless the EPA fianally does its job and shuts down all fracking until its toxcities are known and exposed.
Tell us how it will work, since it's so simple.
You folks do no there has been no decrease in supply at all during this latest price run, don't you?
We drill, baby, drill! That's how. Simple.
US oilcos own tons of leases that they aren't drilling on.
(Maybe they know there ain't enough oil down there anymore? Maybe hydrofracking pays quicker and better?)
Do they need more govt intervention?
Need $10Bs more tax breaks and subsidies to get off their tax-payer/fuel-consumer pampered asses and Drill Baby Drill?
OK, then it's just as simple to say it wouldn't work without explanation.
It wouldn't work.
