I'm as surprised as you are guys. I just knew that Barnes was coming back and Kobe was playing well.
CIA I guess.

Wish I saw some fire from Duncan at any point in the first half.
Sure...it was a win...better than a loss.
at least its not game 6 of the 2008 finals...
A couple of people have said it and they are right - there is some element of perfect storm to this too. We've been horrible at both ends, but they have also been red-hot with the jumper, and the bounce of the ball has gone their way (layups rimming out for us, long rebounds falling into their hands). No excuses, but this isn't quite as bad as it looks.
Do you actually know anything about Tim Duncan?
Blame Pop if you want to get on Tim.
Tim is a rhythm player and he needs touches to get into Rhythm and get going. Pop has completely changed the way the Spurs play on offense and doesn't involve Tim much. If you want more consistent performances from Tim you need to get him the ball consistently so he can get into rhythm.
It pains me, it really does.
The Spurs have no chance against these lakers, and I hate their at ude. The Lakers are really arrogant!!!
Spurs are doing everything that I worry about them against the Lakers.
1. RJ is back to being a ghost.
2. Tim is playing like he's old.
3. Defense is terrible.
4. Offense is being stopped.
5. Being out rebounded.
Yeah and then the Lakers will go out and solve world poverty, hunger and peace.
GTFO.
I thought that was exactly our status heading into today's game. We probably did need this wakeup call. The energy just isn't there as it was when we beat the lakers earlier this season. We need to show some fight in the second half or 3rd quarter. Pop will be sitting the starters in the 4th
I only defend him this much because its ridiculous how much grief the guy gets. No he's only one dimensional. I don't think I ever said he was in there to dominate the boards or be a shut down defender but his one dimension is really important.
Bonner is NEVER the reason we lose but 90% of the Spurs fan ing is about him. Its re ed.
Here come the cliff divers!
That's it and that's ALL it is, yeah we're laying an egg but everyone get too down whenever we lose, guess what l.a. is the defending champs their pretty good. We came all fat and overconfident and can't buy a bucket. Who knows what will happen if we meet in the playoffs. But as of today we lead them 2-1 and have a large lead on them record-wise so let's relax with all the doom and gloom. It was the end of the world when we lost to the clippers I think we've been alright since then.![]()
Now we have to hear this coasting bull excuse for the last two Laker V Spurs losses.
Gonna be interesting to see how Pop treats the second half.
It's also important to remember that these teams have a history of either blowing each other out or playing thrillers. We killed them in the first game of the year, then a thriller, now they kill us in revenge. It evens the decade series at 39-39.
We have some problems against this Faker team, but they have put their absolute best out there and we've been close to our worst. The season isn't over.
LOL tears in the lockerroom for the Heat after the Bulls game? At least IF Spurs lose... yall are not a bunch of pussies like the Hype ...
Yup...we know we can beat the Lakers. We know we can beat the Lakers in LA. This is just one of those games where nothing goes right. We have four games coming up which should all be wins for the Spurs. I'm not worried.
No, we can't. Pop should start Novak, Quinn, Jeffers, Splitter and RJ and play those 5 (our worst players) the entire 2nd half. Give this game up.
Well, somehow...I think Pop secretly is appreciating this game...
This will knock the chip off of the Spurs shoulder that they were denying ever having...
This will help the spurs be humble and motivated enough to keep the #1 seed...
and...
they will know that the #1 seed won't mean that much if they get a little arrogant...
I would still like to see some fight in the 2nd half...at least let the lakers know that it will take the full 48 minutes...
don't let them off easy...make kobe play more minutes...show some fight and don't hang your heads...
Timmy....where the are you?
Everyone needs to pull together here...at least for pride...
I am looking for a surprising 2nd half...on a few levels...
Who cares?
The mavs will beat the lakers in semi final and the Spurs will beat the Mavs in finals...
I don't think JVG could love this harder short of lotioning up his hands and circle jerking the entire Lakers squad.
That should have happened a long time ago now.
Jon Barry must be all giddy inside.
