Thank you
For the love of God put him in the game.
I really don't think we need to see what resembles the act of a live fish frying to death in a hot skillet.
Can't be worse than Duncan or Bonner.
With the way Duncan and Blair played, Splitter should be considered for the starting spot.
Holy did Duncan show age today.
This ass honky just helped Gasol off the floor. Someone take his man card.
As a Spurs fan, I hope this is exactly what Pop needed. If they want to beat the Lakers in a 7-game series, both Splitter and Anderson are going to have to be contributors in the rotation.
The Spurs had absolutely no fear going into this game. Nada. Pop allowed himself to believe the Spurs playing as well as they have, blowing out a Laker team in SA and pulling out a win on the road when they had a full compliment (minus Barnes), he coached like he could get by without Splitter, and to a lesser degree, Anderson.
Hopefully this is exactly what the doctor ordered...
Good post. If nothing else, he brings size to the equation. You can't convince me that Blair is a better defensive matchup on Gasol.
Blair's gonna be key against the Lakers, though. If he can bust out and play like he has against LA in SA and versus Boston last year in 2-3 games, that could be the difference if all else holds form in a series.
But it's feast or famine with Blair. He's just at too much of a physical disadvantage to play heads-up. He's either gonna be beastin' or getting beasted...
I was wondering about that. He looked timid and tired. Definitely wont win another ring if he plays like that.
Yes.
This is why the big win in the first game where Blair beasted against the Lakers never really convinced anyone who know about basketball about the Spurs chances against them.
It all comes down to Duncan.
Blair can do good sometimes, but hustle and energy can only take you so far when your loosing 4/5 inches against your man.
Splitter train as long passed, at this point there's no real chance that he's going to get any significant minutes in the playoffs.
Dice will give them some quality and will at least be compe ive against LA bigs but he can't play enough minutes.
I almost feel is worth starting Bonner against LA ,even though he will inevitably choke in the playoffs, just for the sake of spreading the floor instead of having a clogged lane whenever Ginobili or Parker drive to the basket.
But as I said it all comes down to Duncan, The Spurs don't have any chance if he plays the way he has against the Lakers this season in the playoffs.
