Tbh Mavfan should really wait to judge Brewer to TC comes back. He has all the physical tools to be a shutdown defender.
or at least give him more than 2 ing games like some dumb s here. he gave some decent minutes tonight.

also, I just dont get why Kidd keeps getting a free pass by Carlisle. There is only one guy on the team who EVER deserves a free pass for a night, and thats Dirk. Kidd played like ass, and should have been benched in favor of Roddy who had the hot hand. Generally, Kidd really isnt going to play like this, but he isnt so good anymore that he deserves a pass.

Bogans always got a free pass from Pop. Certain coach are just obsessed with veterans no matter what. Young guys just don't get the trust that a vet brings.

I'm also surprised Roddy isn't getting big minutes, but I have feeling by April he will be seeing significant time.

And what gives you that indication? His treatment of him last year? Or Rick's non-existent record of developing young talent when he had the chance (i.e prince, granger)? I wouldn't count on it..... I'm not, some coaches just love their vets, as you say. Rick's one of those coaches unfortunately....

It's quite logical. Dallas never wins in LA and the Lakers have won a road playoff game in every series the last 3 years (outside of the 2008 finals).

Even if Dallas had the HCA against LA they'd still be dogs in Vegas...not having HCA makes it a near-impossible task.
Having HC is not the difference in the Mavs only winning one game. If it is that big of a difference, Mavs already have 0 chance. 0.

BTW, how is Dirk so good. He does what everyone always says leads to nothing, which is settle for jumpers. There is literally nothing else. Yet he continues to scorch. This is also without another legit threat that you have to really worry about.

Mavs would be alot better off with HCA, but all it takes is one home loss to change a series. They're gonna have to defend very well and hope Dirk and Terry consistently score.

I hear you, it would be a shame if Roddy doesn't get the minutes he deserves. Dallas's front office obviously thinks highly of him.

He definitely shoots a million jumpers everyday in the offseason. Guy can shoot with any hand in his face. Its amazing.

tbh THAT trigga Nick Manning was originally saying that HCA for Dallas is the only way the Lakers and Mavs will "beat each other up" (if I remember correctly). I'm not sure if he said anything about Dallas beating LA.

I know. I'm saying that if they were going to actually beat each other up, HCA has nothing to do with it. I'm saying that if the Mavs want to literally beat LA, they might need HCA, but not to make it a series like he was saying.

Tbh what he said makes sense to me but I see your point. IMO, I consider anything that goes 6 or 7 games "a series" (but other opinions might vary). If Dallas has HCA, that means they'd have to lose 2/3 home games for LA to end it in 5 or sweep, while if LA has HCA they only need to steal game 3 or 4 to close it out in 5.

It'd be hard to give them a series if they were w/o HCA...especially given their troubles at Staples. Dallas could give them a real scare (and might even win if things bounced right) if they have HCA

No team that is good enough to "truly match up with LA" like Mav fan is spewing would only win 1 game against them. Regardless of HCA.

If the Mavs are true contenders like some think, it goes 6 or 7 regardless.

That's a different argument for another place. I'm not sure if Nick Manning is trying to argue the Mavs are a true contender (I know I'm not).

Mavs aren't getting out of the first round so it's irrelevant.

If Roddy was given significant minutes then I would consider them a legit threat in the West, tbh.

Two part question for you my : Do you think the Lakers are legit contenders? Spurs? Do you think the Mavs can beat LA or SA in the playoffs?

I think they are a legit "threat", regardless, meaning Dirk is so good that he can win a series by himself. They lack talent though and their margin for error is NIL.

Of course LA is a legit contender. They are the favorites. Spurs are clearly a legit contender. Their record may be a inflated, but they have balance and top tier talent. They do many things well.

I don't think the Mavs can beat the Lakers or Spurs, but I do think they can give both of them a difficult series meaning it goes at least 6 games.
