1st round exit again IMO

08:08 AM ET 03.08 | The key to a playoff run in Dallas may be in the hands -- or, rather, the speedy feet -- of Rod Beaubois, who is being worked back into the Mavericks' lineup after recovering from a broken left foot. In their backcourt, Beaubois mans the point and Jason Kidd plays shooting guard, giving Dallas a quite different look and forcing defenses to make hard choices in coverage. "He's just rusty," Kidd said last week. "He's a little behind with the injury. The big thing is he's athletic, he can get to the basket and he can shoot it. It's just a matter of him getting minutes." ... The Mavericks didn't make a deal before the trade deadline, but of all the contenders in the West, they have the most potential for improvement.
Hollinger also just came out with an article listing his 2012 break out players with Roddy on his list.... saying that the Mavs aren't likely to play him more than 15-20 mpg this season.

However, if you look at Roddy's past three games you see an upward trend in minutes (13, 15, 17). Does anyone think he can be a difference make for the Mavs THIS year? Is Rick just getting him ready for the playoffs..... or is this just the Rick we saw last year...... overly reliant on his trusty vets and terrified of rookie mistakes?
Ofcourse he's the X-factor. He scored 40 pts against the Warriors![]()
prob 2nd round, no spurs or lakers in 1st round this year
Can't argue with you there... if anyone would know about first round exits it would be a nugs fan.
and hasn't played a game since.... its why Hollinger thinks he's a rising a star, that 40pt game was all he needed to see... duh

fire whoever is drawing up these miserable rotations.... maybe Rick?
Everyone from Hollinger to NBA execs can see this....i hope Rick really isn't as big of a moron as he's letting on..... but we can only hope
I think Carlisle is definitely trying to build him up. He did something last night he hasnt done before (except in one game where they had no JJ Barea), which is play Roddy without Kidd at his side.
You can still see Roddy gets tired really fast though, and reports actually have said that he requests to be taken out because he is so winded.
I've said all year, the combo of Roddy/Terry is the x-factor for the Mavs. If the team can get a consistent scoring punch out of at least one of those guys every night, they can go far.
If this is true then it makes me feel a little bit better.... kind of
They do have to play Rod, for better or for worse. He is the only one with enough upside to really help. Not saying it has to be 30+ minutes, but it needs to be a healthy dose.
