When Van Gundy and Mark Jackson commented at least twice during Sunday’s broadcast how many Lakers fans are were at the game, and how great their fan base is, how well they travel etc. they should’ve been more honest. A more realistic assessment might’ve been:
“Its not that there are native San Antonians who are sad sacks who mindlessly flock to the latest trend and support the Lakers. Rather, due to the struggling California economy and debt crisis, and even worse situation for those within the less educated strata of Los Angeles society, many have migrated to the San Antonio metropolitan area in search of a much better quality of life and any sort of employment. And many cash in their life savings to attend a Spurs game once the Lakers come to town. Hence, why we are hearing so many cheers for the Lakers at the AT&T Center today."
oh oh
As discussed many times, the Lakers & Kobe have fans in every NBA arena…Texans are just more passionate about sports & more knowledgeable about basketball than most NBA fans…That is why San Antonio has so many Lakers fans…They appreciate the best of the best…
Everyone knows that all but maybe 2% of the "Laker" fans are t-shirt fans that have supported LA since Magic, only when LA has had a team that could win the championship.
For example, Lakers fans didn't attend games during the 1995 western conference semis. Laker fans didn't attend regular season games during 05, 06 and 07. They only come out when they think they can win a championship. They will all disappear next year with Phil.
GTFO here. Like I said before, I bet if you asked 90% of those so called Laker "fans" at the AT&T Center Sunday to name the current entire Laker roster, they wouldnt be able to....
the laker fans in SA didn't have much to cheer about on this game:

The NW part of town is EVERYONE that flocked my LA to here. They are all from California on that part of town.
what makes you think that? i know a LOT of Spurs fan on this side of town. in fact, i can only think of a few that i have ever seen here wearing a Lakers' jersey...
most of the Lakers' jersey wearing people are on the south side.
I wonder if any Lakers fans know why they are called the "Lakers".
i love Southern California and couldn't imagine enjoying living somewhere else more than here.
im sure San Antonio has its charm but I'd rather stay just for no other reason than the quality of women
Lakers have bandwagon fans all over the world so its not surprising there were a lot at the AT&T Center. Just like the Yankees, Cowboys, Bulls, etc.
The fleeing Californians flocked to primarily the Northwest side of San Antonio. I know there's a LOT of Spurs fans on this side as well, but this is where most of the white-collared Californians that were out of work moved to. Frankly I'd like to kick them the out. Every single one I have met still says that California is a better place to live, and the only reason they moved here was for employment.... Ungrateful ers... I mean Fakers.
californians are like off the boaters, aka..people who are not from this country. they love to come over here and make our money, take our women, take our jobs and tell us not to fly old glory. well i have news for you laker faker es, go back where u come from because this is texas and we like our bbq's, shotguns and our sexy little mexican girls.
PS. go have another race riot or another ing earthquake or go drive down crenshaw and shoot the place all to . because us texans don't want you here nor do we give a .
Nice established communities have been ruined with un-cut lawns, graphixed cars and trucks, and full trash cans still near the garage on trash day. NW side has gotten hit hard.
great case for San Antonio/Texas right here.

The average Lakers fan: Well you've got Kobe, Gasol, Odom, Bynum, Artest. Umm Fisher? What's the guy's name who's a really good dunker? Alex. Nahh, Shane, Shania, Shannon! That Shannon guy, he's really good. That slow bald white guy plays a lot too, but he sucks. Why is he ever in there?
