It's pretty sweet, but the beginning is very slow.
I'll tell you guys how awesome it is
It's pretty sweet, but the beginning is very slow.
Does it start like the demo, or do you get to see Lothering attacked?
Didn't play the demo, but my bro did. He says it starts the same.
Talk all you want about Dragon Age 2, them gangsta mother ers at Bioware have been laying the pipe on RPGs for YEARS! I trust them even though they are under the EA tag, and thats hard for me to do.
It's funny to me how so many people forget games like Baldurs Gate and how the same company has proved time and time again that they are capable of some Awesome games.
Jade Empire
The KOTOR Series
Neverwinter Nights
MDK 1 and 2
Shattered Steel
You pretender gamers need to STFU about Bioware, you do not know of what you speak.
Cant wait for Mass Effect 3.![]()

arrghh.. march 8 couldnt get here any sooner!
Just picked up my copy, installing now.![]()
...when I get home.
ugh... linear - can only be a human - no tactical camera - less inventory choices - party members who aren't nearly as interesting
still a good game, but glad i didn't pay for it.
the dumbing down/consolification of RPG's marches on, unfortunately.
Really bioware, if I wanted to play mass effect 2, i'd play ing mass effect 2
bring on witcher2!!
, two worlds 2 is better than this game
Beat it. Ending was a lot of fun, and a challenge compared to most WRPG's.
How many hours you put in Imex? Heard it was around 30. (another sad thing about this le)
I'd say around that. Maybe a little less.
There will probably be a deluge of DLC coming, so they can milk this for all it's worth.
Bioware has taken a big hit in my book
Phyzik?
Darkreign?
Thoughts?
Your overall thoughts Imex?
It was, but I didn't absolutely love it like I did ME2. I don't think I'll ever get excited for a non-Mass Effect product by Bioware anymore. I guess I was just expecting too much. Little to no replay value.
Yeah, my expectations were way too much. I'm only a few hours in, but I already feel let-down. Seems rushed, like they felt they had to capitalize while they still could. Always a bad move, since great games will always sell. Wait and see how well Diablo 3 flies off the shelf (not that devs should spend 10 years making sequels, but still). The first DA had tons of replay value, this one won't, if for no other reason than having one race/storyline.
Although I like the speech wheel, some of the answers seem empty, like they have no consequences. I also hate the new "streamlined" inventory. Graphically, it's a bit disappointing too.
Sound is better. Voice acting is better. But these, to me, are superficial things that don't cover up the fact that this is a dumbed down DA. You had to think in the first one, and I really haven't felt the need to think a whole lot. Plus, it's even easier than the first, at least so far
6/10. I may have a better feeling once I've gotten farther in, but I doubt it
, I was thinking of s ing out the $60, but 30 hours? Freaking Royal Envoy lasted me more than that... thanks for the heads up
just look at the player reviews at metacritic...

save your money people, teach these s a lesson
Does this game ever get fun?
It depends what you like, I suppose. Do you like a never-ending hack and slash with no thought required? Then yeah, it'll be fun
If you want an actual sequel to DA:O, this just isn't it
I've played a bit more than 5 hours now, and I don't think I can play any more. I'm just too angry.
Everything that needs to be said is being said at those links I provided. The disparity between the pro reviews and the player reviews is striking, possibly moreso than any game in (my) recent memory.
A shout-out to Rick Ross for being DEAD BALLS ON. Absolutely spot on, props dude
I guess Bethesda is the last bastion of a good RPG experience. The excuses I'm reading that they had to dumb it down and make it arcadish like this so it plays well on consoles is such BS. Look at Oblivion or Fallout 3. Those games don't have the button smasher and are a really good RPG on both PC and consoles.
I guess you stick around Electronic Arts long enough and they'll manage to infest your work with mediocrity...
Dragon Age 2 is a slap in the face to PC gamers. It's obvious they are trying to reach out to the final-fantasy genre of players. Dumbed-down gameplay with a linear story.
Having said that, I will still probably finish the game, if only for the lore.
I wont be buying any DLC for this game and definately wont buy Dragon Age 3 unless Bioware recognizes what platform got them where they are today and to quit with the dumbed-down gameplay.
Very busy boy who barely got past the demo section of the full game last night.
I'll probably get more in depth over the weekend.
Man, you guys are bumming me out.
