    Dirk deserves better. Seriously.
I have said this all year. I like Cubes as an owner, but what he did to Dirk was down right nasty. Not only did he take advantage of Dirk's loyal nature by asking him to take less money to subsidize all the contracts he gives out, he tightened up his belt at the wrong time and did not make a move even though he knew deep down that this team lacked enough talent to win it all.

    Slap to Dirk's face.

I'm starting to agree. They could have easily traded Roddy and Caron's expiring for Gerald Wallace.

I like Roddy, but he's not that invaluable. Dude is not a PG nor a SG. Plus, Dirk and the rest of the team is getting older. They should have gone all out and he didn't. I'm starting to think I'm wrong about this team. RC doesn't even play Roddy enough anyway, so why not trade him? Hornets traded Thornton who's just as good as Roddy IMO.

Exactly, it's one thing to sell some to everyone about Roddy, but if you hitch your wagon and promises to Dirk on the kid, you have to roll with him.

the loss sucked, but not worried one bit. mavs look completely bored. once again, the opponent played their team minutes that you should expect to see in the playoffs, while the Mavs again seemed to not care that much, keeping starter minutes low. bull halfcourt three along with the bull fadeaway by bellinelli, while the mavs had a load of open 3s that they would hit 9 times out of 10 that kept bricking.

Mavs would pound these dudes in 5 in a playoff series when they are actually giving a .

The only reason for a Mavs fan to even bother watching regular season games at this point is just to see how Roddy develops. Fact is, they will be there facing the Lakers in the 2nd round. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. It will happen.

G-Force isn't worth giving up Roddy.

G-Force isnt the 2nd option the Mavs lack anyway.

I do think the Mavs can make a deep run with this team, but RC has to put the best matchups on the floor.

He won't do that. I have zero confidence in Carlisle's decision making.

If he sticks with starting Marion, and just has Peja in for a few minutes while Dirk is out, the Mavs will be just fine.

Marion is a fine fit with the starting lineup. You could see a MASSIVE difference in their defense and rebounding with him in there.

The Mavs really played some good defense all night, while they were doing a pathetic job of hitting their wide-open 3s. If they just hit a few of those, or even ONE, the Hornets lose. I can't count how many wide open threes they bricked though, between Kidd, Terry, and Roddy (mostly Kidd).

Honestly, the Hornets offense is terrible even with CP3. Without him, they're just brutal offensively. They only scored 77 the other night against the Bulls without CP3. They only have one reliable perimeter shooter (Belinelli) and West is not much of a factor without a good PG. Jack doesn't run the offense well and really looks for his own shots. Not saying the Mavs didn't play good defense tonight, but the Hornets are pretty bad offensively.

I do agree that Marion's injury and missed 3's were the big factor tonight. Kidd was awful. Missed too many threes.

With Willie Green and Trevor Ariza being cancers offensively, and with no Chris Paul, the Mavs should not have lost this one. This game and the one from December 2009 are just demoralizing.

So does that make the Spurs record even more incredible considering their top 3 players have consistently played less average minutes than any other contending big 3? Cause I keep hearing from Mav fan that the Spurs aren't that good.

That is exactly my point. I can understand not doing anything if Caron doesn't go down. The Mavs were looking great (still playing very well without him), but when he went down, so did their legit hopes.

At that point, he should have done something.

how is a guy that plays only 15 minutes a game considered untradeable? He is tweener like all of our PG/SG. Roddy is good but God damn, he is overrated like crazy

    See Leandro Barbosa

Mavs and Lakers have a more complete team than the Spurs, plain and simple. The Spurs are a gimmick team that relies on the 3pt shot. It will be exploited by either the Mavs or Lakers in the playoffs. Sorry, but this is just a fact, DPG. Just as much of a fact as you being short, BUMP being tall, and you getting teabagged in bball by BUMP.
