Yep... it's all they have left. Their hold on the 6-24 so blinding they can't see the shine of the LOB.![]()
That's it, right there. That is where the loyal opposition resides now since Bryant went Back-to-Back for the third time.
They've no other foothold on earth. Bryant took them all away.
Yep... it's all they have left. Their hold on the 6-24 so blinding they can't see the shine of the LOB.![]()
So why doesnt this stop taking shots? that is like 80 percent or their loses was because of his chucking at due
They reference the deciding seventh game where he rang for the fifth time.
They've nothing else.
Heat was just a wounded animal, that's all.
and before any of you idiots take the first shot, I'll beat you to it....."same thing happened with the Cavs" when we played them.
Any team was going to fall last night. Any. Law of averages won out.
Good game Heat.
It is not like Kobe is still the future of the team.
I guess Bynum don't have the guts to stood up to Kobe.
But I wonder what would happen if he did.
What is the Spurs' record in closeout games the year after they rang? Kobe is 5-0.![]()
wtf if you include all their series its like 15 dumbass. At least get the numbers right.
Personally I don't think Kobe does well with confrontations he usually shrivels up and looks for someone to bail him out. Just look at the Shaq feud how he could not win support in the locker room to go against Shaq but went to Dr Buss to help him overthrow Shaq. I think this is what most guys truly fear that if they oppose Kobe in any way that he will make plans to get them shipped to Siberia. Personally if I made millions I wouldn't give a about getting traded but for these guys its the lifestyle in LA they don't want to give up so they will put up with Kobe's .
Kobe maybe old but the Lakers pretty much established that their commitment for him is still strong with that crazy extension they gave him plus giving him a no trade clause. Gasol is the only guy I could see with the clout to stand up to Kobe considering he is a valuable asset but its not in Gasol's personality to confront people.
But, in the intervening years since he ran Daddy off he's proven he was correct. Daddy has barn stormed thru the NBA ringing but once. Kobe has doubled that output while feathering a nest of consistency and repeat championships for the franchise.
Gasol couldn't win a single playoff game till Kobe took him in.
The empirical evidence bears Bryant out.
Bryant is the constant.
Where do you get this stuff? Do you have one shred of evidence that anything you said about the locker room and Shaq and whining to Buss is true? No. Of course you don't.
You would think Shaq jumping from team to team and burning bridges at every turn while making himself the fool would maybe give you some insight as to what really went down... since apparently the word of Shaq, Kobe, and Dr Buss didnt... well I guess not.
Duncan has never missed the playoffs, ever. Kobe can't say that.
Duncan has never lost the NBA Finals. Kobe can't say that.
Kobe has 5 rings, however. Duncan will soon be able to say that.![]()
Ok, fine, you have those.
I'll take:::
Kobe: 5
Duncan: 4
Kobe does take some of the worst shots in league history. Something he really needs to fix. I mean damn, they were only down four and to catapult that garbage up there was asinine. A lot of time on the clock and they could have easily got a much better shot.
Not true Larry. I hear ya... but they had exhausted all there TO's and could not advance the ball after the fouls. It was a solid take for a road game.
...As everyone knows, he rarely calls timeouts and often still has one or two in his pocket for end-of-game situations. This time, he called his last one with 46 seconds to play and the Lakers down by four.
"I really took responsibility for screwing up the end of the game," he said. "I had no timeouts…"

after the steal by Wade which led to the dunk by LeBron, the Lakers trailed 90-88. Taking a fallaway three pointer in the corner with 23 on the shot clock is not a smart shot ........ I don't care if it's Jordan, Bryant or Magic Johnson. They were only down two and he hoisted up that crap? Not smart. There was still more than a minute on the game clock as well.
Not at all and I agree. I was talking abouut the 3 with 20 seconds left. I did read where PJ siad the corner 3 was part of the play he called but was expecting time to be run down and was surprised Kobe put it up so quick. Oh well. Again, my contention, as PJ has commented on, is that the one with 20 secs left was not as outlandish as eveyone here is saying with the TO and road game factors included.
How come jordan shot 50%, yet took even more shots than kobe bean.
Kobe will never change, he's in the twilight of his career and the Lakers are going through one of the most crucial point of their season and he's still playing one on one ball. Everyone knows the odds are stacked higher against them this year and with no HCA and virtually every team out there improving, Kobe as their MVP needs to prepare his teammates and make sure the Lakers are firing at all cylinders to give them momentum by boosting their confidence.
And Kobe did what? He tried to show the world that neither Lebron or Wade can shut him down...one on one. (Good thing Wade did) and after his failure on National TV Kobe countered and pulled his little gimmick by showing the media he's all about "improving" his game, except he worked on the wrong part of it.
Its sad that with 14 years of experience and being around some of the most patient teammates, Kobe can't just let this season be about the Lakers and not about himself. This is Phil's last season as his coach and the man coached him to 5 championships. Kobe said numerous times he wants to make sure Phil's exit is a glorious one, so why don't you walk the walk and prove just that? Kobe needs to return the favor and play the way Phil Jackson wants them to play. Sadly, I don't think its going to happen. By the end of this season, I won;t be surprised if Kobe makes it all about himself yet again. Kobe's a great player but he's also one of the most hypocrite and phoniest player in the history of the game
Open your eyes Lakers fan.
oh yeah, that three at the top was cool with me as well. He could have moved up a little more though but I didn't have any problem with that one ......
Mike took it to the hole a uva lot more times that Bean has ...... and had beach front property at the free throw lineHow come jordan shot 50%, yet took even more shots than kobe bean.
he's too far in with NBA years to change now but it alright as long as the bigs are fed as well. And HCA isn't really a big deal especially now that Perkins is no long in Boston. Look at the Lakers in the last three le runs. They've won in San Antone while clinching at home (2008). They stole a game in Houston and clinched in Denver and Orlando (2009). Last year, they clinched in OKC, Utah and PHX. Had HCA and had to go to Boston to get one and they got it. As long as they are that kick ass road team, they'll always be fine.Kobe will never change, he's in the twilight of his career and the Lakers going through one of the most crucial point of their season and he's still playing one on one ball. People will say he's trying to steal the spotlight from Miami. LOL. Are you kiddking me? If that was the case, he would have done that earlier in the year when the Heat were spanking the bottom feeders and winning 21 outta 22. And he has put up extra shots after games in Houston, Texas. , Ron Ron goes to the gym after Laker games in his uniform. You just tell you boys to stop having press conferences after every damn gameAnd Kobe did what? He tried to show the world that neither Lebron or Wade can shut him down...one on one. (Good thing Wade did) and after his failure on National TV Kobe countered and pulled his little gimmick by showing the media he's all about "improving" his game, except his worked on the wrong part of it.. Who does that ? That's attention whoring at its best.
What's phony about his game? Who works harder? By no means am I one of those Kobe ball huggers but I give credit and props when it's due. And if the season was all about him, I'd think he would have done everything in his power during the season to regain the spotlight from the celebration and confetti flowing in South Beach. Last time I checked, he and the Lakers stayed on the low. Let the Heat versus the Celtics have the spotlight on opening night .... just raise my banner and slide me my ring. Its sad that with 14 years of experience and being around some of the most patient teammates, Kobe can't just let this season be about the Lakers and not about himself. Heard all this same stuff last year from you from series to series as you jumped from one team to the next in hopes that anyone could take down the Lakers. In fact I heard it right up till halftime of game 7 where you promptly tucked tail and dissappeared.
Yeah... cause sitting next to Bron in a nightly media circus whining about how they are hated so much is so much more productive after a loss. What could he be thinking?
PJ wouldnt even be the Lakers coach if not for Bryants approval. Walk the walk? You mean like leading your team to back to back championships and in contention for the 3peat? Again, you said all the very same things last year... right before the ringage and your dissappearing.
Because he was better.
Just stop there. No reason to compare two players who are clearly on different tiers of skill level.
his FG% average in these 20+ FGA games is around 43%
