We should subsidize the travel industry by giving poor people grants to travel to ONE country for 7 days a year. Except for countries in the Middle East and Turkey, since we'd prolly end up sending over people to get radicalized on the tax payer dime LOL!
If we cut the annual Military budget by about 2.4%, we can afford a $5,000 international travel voucher for every graduating high school senior.

    I'm just saying.

I couldn't wait to see how many panties would get in a bunch over this one.

Interesting that Darrin immediately associated them as black and poor.

But Blacks really aren't the ones calling Obama a European fascist socialist, and they're still outnumbered in the heart of it all (Mississippi) by nearly 2 to 1. So the poor white dummies who vote against their own economic interest and buy into the conservative rhetoric are the ones actually in control there, and they're still primarily the ones who don't know all that much about the rest of the world and kind of think that they do.

This really isn't as alarming as a statistic that I saw right before I left for Germany as an exchange student in my junior year of high school. It said that 60% of ALL Americans never leave a 150 mile radius of their birthplace (this was not targeted at one political party or another, but I thought it seemed relatively appropriate). This may have changed one way or another since that was 15 years ago.

If you say so. You have yet to connect any of those dots. But hey, if you say it enough times you'll start to believe it. Beats thinking.

Hey dumbass I WAS NEVER a republican. If you are going to continue repeating the story get it right.
I am telling your made up bull right. You turned your back on the republican party. You were voting republican, McCain to be specific then Palin entered the picture and u have been sucking on Barrys ever since. Now try to stay focus.

Again, do you have a passport and traveled outside North America? I look forward hearing of your world travels and how they influenced your all so important decision to turn your back on the republicans all because Palin was placed on the ticket in 2008 when I return later this evening.

Umm, I'd check your eyes over that state. Hint: regarding what race. Also, how can one not bring up race when YOU lead us with your use of "South" from the get go? A "crosshairs" kinda deal here.

Not surprising. The US is huge. It isnt Europe where you can drive 300 miles and be in a completely different country, with a completely different culture and history.

Whats really different from the 48 contiguous states?

Besides stupid accents, traffic signals and regional food, not a whole uva lot.

Europeans have the luxury of culture due to historical conquerors, geography and proximity to the birth of civilization as we know it.

    them.

    Does this include military passports?

And you don't need a passport to go over the border into Mexico last time I checked. Not sure about Canada.

Europeans don't just travel around Europe (you don't need a passport to travel between the Schengen countries anymore, and that includes France, Germany, Spain and Italy). Most Europeans, particularly western Europeans travel to far flung destinations in Australia, Asia and Africa.

It's really about what people want to do with their disposable income, generally, Americans prefer to buy things, Europeans prefer to buy experiences.

Well, at least those of us that go in/out of Mexico legally need passports. Obviously millions don't.

I have taken vacations to Peru, Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Colombia. I usually do a hike in the Andes. There are always a lot of Europeans on the trips, usually from Germany or England. I don't remember seeing too many Americans.

However, I recently took a European Baltic trip and visited, England, Denmark, Russia, Germany and Finland. Most tourists that I met were American.

Having a passport means absolutely nothing about where someone has traveled and how culturally in-tune they are with different societies. I have traveled to the middle east and visted at Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Israel, but I was on business and didn't get to see a damn thing. Visiting those countries did not shed a whole of a lot of insight into their cultures.

The American inferiority complex lives on, being from a country with no past.

Just imagine, all the kids in France speak fluent French!
