2000- 2001 is a back to back.
2001- 2002 is the 2nd of the back to backs that constute the 3peat
2009 - 2010 is a back to back.
That would be 3 times the Lakers have won back to back les math genius!

It is a common misconception that the year 2000 is part of the 21st Century. It is not. 2000 is the last year of the 20th Century. So, if you're talking about back-to-backs "since the Century turned", the Lakers have TWO, not three. The 1999-2000 one doesn't count, because it occurred BEFORE the turn of the Century, which occurred at midnight on January 1, 2001.
Hmmm...this also means that the Lakers (and Kobe by inclusion) don't really have a threepeat in this century.
