The reason that mystics go silent goes back to what I said before...that god cannot be explained by the human mind...so the mystics go silent...because they know that to speak or to try and explain the unexplainable would be foolish. So they just smile and say nothing.
Truth may be sighted suddenly...and in that moment...the mystics..become enlightened...but truth cannot be explained...it cannot be conceptualized...if you try you will fail...but you know that you experienced it...and the mystics realized that it was best to shut up because it is impossible to put the truth into words...you can only point to falseness...nothing can be said about truth...so instead try to point out falseness and this would give you an idea of truth...
nothing can be said about god...but maybe try to point to the opposite--which is fear...talk about fear and you will begin to understand what god is NOT...etc...
I never assumed that god exists or doesn't...but this is my opinion and my opinion only...not that I know more or less than anyone ...I certainly don't pretend to know the unknowable...but i will tell you what my opinion is until now---and if I ever learn more before I die then I will just have a different opinion at that time---it still won't mean that I know the absolute truth about god;
but to me ...God is the same as love...God=Love...no more no less...
I don't look at god as something that is separate from other beings or separate from things in the universe...just a state called love...
it is not metaphysical rambling...but it is easier to dismiss it as such if it does not fit YOUR image of what god is or is not...
and since you believe that god does not exist...it should not matter what anyone else thinks or proves or disproves...
your belief or your theory or your opinion or whatever you decide you call it---is still just that...a belief...not a fact...and that's ok...
I don't feel a need to disprove your idea...I don't feel threatened or pressured to convince you of my opinion...and I definitely disagree that someone has to prove that god exists...that will never happen...and if it indeed never happens---it still won't prove that he does not exist...
try to accept that we cannot prove that he does exist---and we cannot prove that he does NOT exist...
because we will never know the absolute truth about god or whether he exists or not...

Christianity would have died on the cross with Jesus's death had he not been resurrected.
His followers were cowarding in hiding not understanding why Jesus let himself die. Some of them were questioning if Jesus was a fraud but then the unthinkable happened, Jesus was resurrected from the dead and seen by many. Christianity was alive and built on the foundation of the resurrection. You can believe it never happened but I believe it did happen.
It makes sense to me that Christianity would have died had Jesus not been seen after his death. There was no longer any need to carry it on because Jesus would not have backed up his word that he would be risen on the 3rd day.
So Blake we never agreed on what a God is so we can then debate on its existence?
People used to get buried alive back in the day, thought to be dead when actually not. Some were actually saved in the process, after coming to or whatnot...
What if the Resurrection was just a bad diagnosis compounded by a lack of understanding from those that bore witness?

Unless you can properly comprehend what exactly a miracle is,I doubt you will ever truly get it.
I used to look at miracles like some sort of Disney movie. a frog that turns into a prince, Dorthy finding the land of Oz and so on....it wasn't until 1981 when i saw some that changed my views on this very subject.
