btw Phil's comments had nothing to do with Dallas. It was 100% about mind games with Miami, specifically Wade. Phil only plays mind games with teams he considers a threat, there's no reason to consider Dallas a threat. But LA has every reason to be threatened by Miami.

Anyone that thinks Dirk was just shooting fadeaways didn't watch that series. Dirk was extremely aggressive. He may have gotten the lion's share of the calls, but he worked for them.

And if it wasn't for officiating that favored the Mavs vs. the Spurs that year, they never would have gotten that far anyway. Even if you ignore the countless ridiculous fouls that got Spurs players ejected in several games, they called the foul on Ginobili in game 7 (legit call) but swallowed their whistles 6 seconds later when Dirk hacked Duncan across the forearms at the end of regulation.

Perfect officiating that year would not have resulted in a Mavs championship. It would have prevented you from being there in the first place.

Don't forget the Tech they took back later on Finley in a game we lost in OT, which Pop says so that means we win by a point right?? That game there made it a 7 game series instead of 6, Spurs would have won that shyt if not for stupid calls like that no doubt. This is truth here, most Mavs fans will deny it but officiating was horrible in that series too. I remember CHUCK after one game on TNT where we lost say NBA officials are horrible, period. That still sticks out in my mind.

Funny that a jump shooter goes to the lane that many times like he is Jordan though! Dirk lived out on the perimeter, but got foul calls like mad.

Dallas fans bytch about 06 and we Spurs fans do as well, thing is both of us have damn good points at times and neither side will admit it. Both were robbed in ways IMO.
