Thumbs up/down would probably be easier to implement, and is used across numerous messageboards already. (Though that's usually for posts and not specific posters.)
Just an idea I had, to possibly start a system where there is a point system for posts
Points Per Post (like PPG) - 30 points per post for great posts/postersm 20 points per post for good, insightful posters, 10 ppp for ok posts/posters, and -1 ppp for horrendus posters. How this would work would be to implement a voting system kind of like giving reputation to a poster by clicking on either (Great Post, Good Post, Ok post, and Terrible post)

Or, if we really like someone we could say, "Duh" and if we don't like someone we could say, "Duhr" . . .

I like the medal system, tbh..having an All-ST medal speaks volumes IMHO..
Points/rep systems always inevitably turn into fests with too many people abusing/crying over abuse.
I'm workin on POTM for now. I'll set my sights higher on one of those shiny medallions later.

If the maturity level in the NBA forum were above 3rd grade, some kind of rep system would be cool. But since it's not, it would just be abused.

You can't have a rating / point system in a forum like this. It would just be abused and end up being worthless.
