Neither did the Mavs. Whoever wins is the superior team.
All depends on matchups. If SA gets Memphis in Rd 1, I can see them getting eliminated.
No ing way.
Unlike the 2007 Mavs, the Spurs will not lose a playoff series to an inferior team. There's a huge difference.

I agree with Cleva
It's a matchup thing
No way in would the Warriors have won the WC, but they matched up very well with Dallas in 2007
Okay, the Warriors were superior for that one series at that particular moment. But they got super hot and could not miss at times.
My point was that a Spurs team will always beat an inferior team in a 7 game series. Except last year. And the year the Mavs beat them in 7.
And the year that Derek Anderson was hurt.
you cannot seriously compare the never won mavs to a team led by Duncan + Manu + Pop.
No way Spurs lose to Memphis in round 1 if healthy. I do see the series going 6-7 games though.
How about you put your balls where your mouth is. If Spurs vs. Memphis happens I am wiling to do a nuclear ELE bet with you? game?
Memphis with a healthy Rudy Gay is scary
MEM even without a healthy Rudy Gay is scary, but I think the Spurs take em out in 5-6 either way.
+1. The only thing holding them back is expierence.
I still think you guys were the better team last year against PHX.
are you going to edit this post when you see that I said as much in my next post?
??
what next post? do you mean a upcoming post?
not picking at ya, just trying to make a point.
the next post after the post that you quoted in your post before your last post (being the post quoted in this post). So the next post I made AFTER the post that you quoted in your first response to me.
..Who's on first?![]()
You really believe this? When the Spurs were hot and when Heat, Boston and Lakers were struggling, did you believe in this nonsense? Now its the time to show up when it counts and make no excuses. By thinking this way, you are already admitting defeat. Hopefully no one on the Spurs team feels the same as you. Remember, the rest of the top teams need to win, the Spurs do not. They simply have a nice lead and probably do not want to overplay the big 3 too much. The best team usually comes out on top in a 7 game series. The Spurs will be alright. Pop is a great coach, he knows what he is doing.

What? No way. 5 games, max 6 games. Memphis has yet to win a game in SA this season.
We're not the Lakers...
Yes. In fact part of the plan is to allow teams like the Spurs and Mavs to have good regular seasons. Then as the season gets late, they start giving more calls to the chosen teams so it looks like they are getting hot at the right time while it makes the Spurs look like they are in a slump. The Spurs getting the top seed falls right into their plan. That way, they can shrug and say, "what fix? look who had the best record" after the Spurs are screwed out of the playoffs by the crooked refs and bad calls.
