What if I lay $1000 on the Lakers at 3:1 to win it all this year?

That way, if the Lakers do threepeat this year, I walk away $3K richer, and if they don't, it will be worth the $1000 to see the Lakers get denied. Either way, I win.

What do you all think? Am I crazy???

Sometimes it depends on who you are laying the bet with.

Looks like Boston is running out of steam. Means Heat are probably a lock to the East. I don't see Lakers beating the Heat especially since we don't know who will have home court.

Time to pause and reconsider. What are the odds for Miami to win it? probably less. I'd put 750 on LA and 400 on Miami. Either wins and you still probably get over $2,000 but now you are doubling your chances.

Take the Lakers and Boston and you are covered. Lay enough down so you win if either team wins.

Boston's been bringing the weak lately, even weaker than SA. Lakers/Bulls seems like a much surer bet than either Lakers/Celtics or Lakers/Heat.

Lay $50 on all the bottom teams in the playoffs to win. Odds will be astronomical and you probably won't cash in--but look at all the games you will have money on to get the old adrenalin going and the fun you'll have in the ER as they try to restart your heart.

No, 3:1 means I would get my bet back plus 3x my bet if I won.

I used to use this strategy. It does tend to ease the pain of a loss.

In this case, however, you'll just be tossing away good green.

Bulls are not ready to go all the way to a le yet. They have to go through some tough playoff losses first. Boston 1st than Miami have better shots than the Bulls in the east.

or you could bet $5,000 on the Spurs. 1/5 = $25,000

long shots but if Spurs win, imagine the ecstacy....
