He's vastly overrated defensively but I love the spark he brings off the bench

He's playing terribly in the last 2 weeks or so. I main problem is his lack of confidence, when things stars to get wrong he can't recover. I also think he did a good job on Terry last night. I hope he can start built something thing out of it

In offense it looks like he lost confidence in his shots. His corner triple was money last season but in the last month he missing a lot of those and wide open. The other thing is he's a ball stopper. He dribbles too much and it often lead to bad shots at the end of the clock.

If he can play solid defense and make the open 3 I'll be happy. I just hope Pop doesn't put him at PG.

It's funny because I think Hill and RJ suffer from the same thing, except that Hill still puts in supreme effort defensively when his shot doesn't fall.

Both Hill and RJ really suffer when they lack aggression. When they play aggressive, they do well more often than not. When they float on offense and just look to be ball movers, they bring very little to the table.

Both players need to step up the aggression. Both have the tools to drive more and get to the line. Both can shoot, but they need to get the other parts of their game going before the shot will fall.

With the exception of Neal, all the role players (along with RJ) have been pretty disappointing lately. Fortunately the Big 3 all showed up last night.

I think he has the skills to be very effective. However, I think he is weak mentally. This will hurt us in the playoffs.. I would play gary neal over him in the playoffs, and use him to play situational D.

I'm am really not worried about Hill. I trust him to do something when it matters. He is not a superstar, so he can't be expected to dominate every game. Spurs just need a few solid games out of him.

It's tough to make your mark when Manu and Tony light it up. I like Georgie and if the Spurs give him a decent second contract I think he can be a good SG starter or sixth man for a lot of years.

If one of the starters got hurt for an extended period, George would do what he did last year and early this year, get in a groove and roll.

When you pick as low as the Spurs always do, I think if you get a pretty darn good rotation player, part time starter, and someone who will eventually play 8-10 years in the NBA, you are doing all right.

The "Hit" versus "Miss" stats on SAS top picks is very much to the positive.

He did get a few key rebounds in the second half..Those usual long rebounds we did not get against the lakers because a lack of hustle.

+1 I wish someone would just tell Hill and Jefferson that they have to take it into the paint at least five times a game or they won't get playing time. The opposite of Bonner who if doesn't shoot the open three he gets taken out.

Yeah, he might have to go.
Uh, no. Unless the Spurs want to trade him for a big defender, in which case Pop wouldn't do it because he doesn't like big defenders. What the Spurs need is a backup point guard and let Hill be the sixth man who can score and defend.

He's playing bad right now, but that doesn't mean he's a bad player. Once he and RJ get their groove back, the Spurs are going to be scary good for the playoffs.

If it comes back, then yes, I agree. The Spurs can't win without that happening. If it does, look out.

They're working on defense and communicating. They've got four weeks to get it back, so I'm not terribly worried. Prior to last night there was no sense of urgency at all, and that was worrying.

I wonder if the Spurs coaching staff is content with the progress he has made....I still think there is a ton of upside to his game..It seems like they put his development on hold.

anyway, yea he seems like he has panic in his eye....other Spurs not so much.

He needs a big all around game tonight! let's go GH3.

IMO Hill/Jefferson/Blair/Bonner could be traded...not in the off-season tho.

George is a good solid role player for us, hard worker and gym rat, and good guy. We shouldn't be so hard on him because he's not (probably) going to bloom into an allstar.

As for the immediate past (i.e. recent slump) he'll get out of it. George is tougher than some of you think.

I agree with that 100%. Expectations need to be tempered. Hill does more good than bad (not lately). He will have games where he looks like an All-Star and then stretches like this where he doesn't look like an NBA player.

All we need is some consistency from a habit stand point. Make or miss, mistakes or none, he needs to be aggressive. Make mistakes, but make them aggressive mistakes.
