Jones is like a bigger, stronger Anderson Silva with a ground game.

Anderson doesnt have a ground game.. ?

Who's going to beat Jones? I can't think of a single LHW that will challenge him.
He rolls through Shad like i think he will and Jones reigns for years and years.. Only injuries or lack of focus stops him..

Excellent take.. He is like Silva with amazing wrestling and top game.. Jones beats Silva IMO
Jones would not be able to get away with his bull on the feet and i know you know this. you even said yourself Anderson has no equal on the feet. if Bones can get it to the ground then he has a really good chance, but again Silva is a BJJ black belt and we are yet to see Bones' JJ

I agree. I think Jones would beat Silva easily. He's far too big for Silva. I don't see anybody outside of the heavyweight division that could bother him.

lol, we don't need to see anything from Jones. There's still a lot of mysteries about Jones and he always delivers something wicked. He would batter Silva's face in from the top, fact. Unless Silva tries to kick Jones' chicken legs out, like the best kicker Shogun didn't even bother with. He's just too big, a man among boys basically.

Jones just outstruck the outta one of the best strikers ever at LHW. Shogun raped Rampage on the feet in Pride for gods sake.. Yes Silva still has the edge there but not a huge one.. Not after seeing that display.. I respect Silva and his greatness for sure but man Jones

    WOW

When he gets it there he can do things but he lacks the wrestling to make it happen. And i have never really seen GNP from him.. Not like Jones

But lets not sidetrack.. This is about Jones..

Now i agree with this. Jones' size is probably too much for Silva which is why i dont even know why this match up is being brought up. all you guys want is someone to throw at silva.

its like trying to match a primed Penn vs Rich when he first got the belt. Of course Jones probably wins this fight off size and length. But in no way does that make him a p4p better fighter. theres at least 5 guys at HW that would run through anderson

What that was tonight was experience counting for nothing when you are in there with a guy that is ten times the athlete that you are

Jones, GSP and Anderson are the 3 most talented guys in the sport with maybe Jones being number 1

Coming off those knee injuries, it also didn't help Shogun when Jones gave him all those kicks to the knees. That's going for a man's inner peace of mind, trying to make him timid and insecure. It's ridiculous, and I can't wait to see what Jones would do to Silva if Dana has half a brain and schedules a real superfight. And LOOK, Shogun in tapped to strikes

UFC will look to make GSP/Silva after the Shields fight..

Jones has to fight Shad and then after that maybe he kills Rampage.. Basically every 205 er just their pants.. He is a huge LHW and can easily beat top HW's right now.. Off the top he'd rape the outta Schaub.. How the do you beat Jones?? This guy has an aura of invincibility about him right now..

Shogun tapped to that left hook to the ribs. That was vicious.

That's what Dana was saying, in addition to the fans wanting Shogun vs Silva. But look at Jones, the excitement around him being able to take out Silva/LHW/most HW fighters. That's a very real P4P best in the world possibility, to deny him that would be like what M1 has done to Fedor IMO.

I keep thinking of the size difference between Shogun/Jones is similar to what Silva/GSP would look like other than GSP offering Silva's wrestling poison. I'm just not interested in that anymore.

Jones is just on another level in terms of athleticism. IMO the only guys in the heavyweight division who 'could' beat him are JDS, Cain, Carwin and Brock. IMO if Bones adds 30 pounds (he easily could obviously since he walks around at like 230) and moves up he destroys any HW outside of those 4 in UFC.

    Rewatching this fight now

I don't know if Silva wants the Jones fight. So who knows

Well, . I was rooting for old school Pride in this fight but at least an American beat a Brazilian.

As far as Jones vs Silva, I gotta side with dallaskd on this one. Don't ask me why, but for whatever reason I see Anderson pulling off something in that fight you'd only see in Dragon Ball Z or some .

    GSP vs Silva
    Silva vs Jones
Jones vs a HW not named Cain, Brock, or Carwin

I'm creaming myself thinking of any of those and I'm sure Dana White is too

This is a good article on Jones. I didn't realize that he has a brother that plays defensive end for the Ravens and another brother that stars at defensive end for Syracuse. He's clearly a super-athlete. It's scary to think that he hasn't come close to reaching his peak yet!

That is up there with some of the most excting nights in MMA for me ever. Jones made a statement as the future star of MMA. You get the feeling the way the UFC hyped this up like they almost saw it as a coronation for Jones.

    Incredible..
