    My OP says it all...

    But you're comparing Apples to Oranges....Pippen almost got them to the finals twice without MJ...Gasol never made it anywhere...Pippen is top 50 player all time and HOF'er...Gasol is not a HOF'er and can barely make the All-star team....So Gasol makes Kobe marginally better...it's the team around Kobe the ulative effect of good players at multiple positions.... that's why Kobe is winning now...
