What happened to this kid? He was our best perimeter defender, hustled for steals, he could run some plays, hit the mid range shot... money with the corner 3...

He's just getting beat off the dribble like nobody is there, dribbles too much, can't run a play and looks completely irrelevant for long stretches...
It's like he takes a xanax before the game...

And I've noticed lately that his struggles are not just on the road... really bad timing to pull this ... Thoughts?

Wish we could have moved him at the trade deadline...could really use another solid big instead of a passive SG trying to hide within the offense.

No more sole backup PG duties for Hill...his status on the team has gone down and so has his confidence

He's been pretty awful all season long and especially recently. He hit some shots today but he's done taking it to the rim and the offense goes real stagnant once he enters the game.

Best perimeter defender? He was never that good defensively. He was just the best THIS team had to offer. It's becoming apparent that Hill, like Bonner, is a mental midget. Plays well at home, looks lost on the road. Perhaps Hill should do a stint in Europe. Maybe then he'd develop the steel-minded mentality that clearly Gary Neal has.

I don't know who I'm starting to despise more, Hill or Bonner. They've rapidly become the two weak links on this team. Yet, Pop continues to roll their asses out there.

THere's no explanation for Pop giving Hill and Bonner so much court time, based upon their unproductive showings. He may have been better served giving Anderson and Novak a look.

Kind of a sad state when we have to say that Hill is the Spurs best perimeter defender. Thats not a very high bar set.

Pop keeps trying to make them something they're not. You just can't teach mental toughness.

I wouldn't say he is soft. Remember this guy once played on a broken foot in college and he doesn't back down fom other players, so toughness isn't the issue. I think Hill should focus on utilizing his length more because he lateral quickness isn't what I thought it would be.

But, he is averaging 10.6 points on .446 shooting and 3.2 assists over the last ten games. He needs to make more of this three-point attempts. However, his play hasn't been as horrendous as some people on this board have been saying.

His ability to start the offense actually looks like it's regressed. He's still really bad at fighting screens. Lately he just seems like he's content to be on the court, don't see the Hill who could do things with the ball. I didn't think he was as bad today as he's been previously.

I wonder if the Neal breathing down his neck theory is really what's up? I really hope it's just a prolonged funk, we need Hill and one of Bonner/RJ/Blair to really step up for the run.

I don't even think rookie George Hill was this bad. People were actually a fan of him in his rookie year. It seems like he's hated around the board now.

He seems to have lost all confidence and fire. It probably has to do with being responsible for not running the point well and the emergence of Gary Neal.

It sucks to see Hill play like this. I really like the kid on and off the court, but if he doesn't wake up now, he may not be on the team next season. Although that seems very unlikely since Pop wouldn't give up on him that quickly but you never know.

ANy player who plays well at home, but sucks royally on the road is soft. Time is up on all the excuses for Hill. He's had some bright moments - up until this season. It now appears as though he's regressed. I can't stand seeing guys like him and Bonner continuously getting playing time, when they're obviously making mistakes and under-performing.

Very sad, indeed. I liked him alot, but I agree, his improvment has reached a platoe this year. Seems like pop has been pampering him too much, so when tough situations arise, he's goes fetal mentally, somewhat like bonner but to much lesser extent. I think it started last year, when he got abused by nash in the playoffs.

So strange to see Hill regress so bad. I thought we had a future starting caliber player in him. I have to laugh now that quite of few posters on here(me included) actually were open to trading Parker, due to the emergence of Hill.

Yep me too, and we were nuts for that! Some at work too said he can replace Tony (LA fans too), but they and us were all wrong! He is what he is, he is a role player and will not get much better IMO. I wish he continues from the Dallas series last year, but he has regressed since the PHX series.
